Just out of curiosity why not let the wind tunnel tell you the fastest shape and why have separate taillights? Why not have a rear end to match the wind tunnel needs and put lights inside the material and have that material be transparent between the taillight inside led bulb and have no separate shape for the tail light at all? Composites with transparent sections that change to invisible when the light comes on and the red comes through.
Also, why have red tail lights? How about some other color? L.P. Jason |
How about something like this!

I just cant see how a mid-engine design would be more complex. A torque tube is complex. After getting out of a c4 the other day and into a first gen boxster s, I sighed in dispair; I wish they could make FR more fun than MR... on the road.

A lot of these concepts are truly painful; hopefully GM nails it.

This is the best car in my opinion. When I think of corvette, I think of them trying to improve weight, aerodynamics, and the aggressiveness of the car. The reason why I love the C6 so much is because it's a SPORTS CAR not a luxury car with some power. I love the c6 because everything is so simple and it weights so light (with the exception of replacing some of the "cheaper parts.) But this car does it for me. If I wanted something to look all fancy and have a powerful motor i'd go buy an Aston. But when I think of corvette, I want to be able to think of a sports car that can go fast! It keeps the price down too without all those extra gadgets. Only thing, I want my exhaust to come out the back, no side
This car for sure does it for me, corvette would be heading in the right direction! Keep corvette front engine, light, v8, rwd, and simple! That's what I love about these cars! :flag: |
:lurk:

Hey now, easy there, that Shelby with the 4.0 Northstar is a sweet ride! That weird hybrid Z/Lambo, however, just comes across as looking like a wanna-be F50. Why do so many people want the Vette to become something completely different? If GM is going to build a mid-engine performance car, it shouldn't be called a Corvette. Cadillac's Cien concept fit that bill nicely; if you want a mid-engine $50k-$70k car, buy a Boxster/Cayman or an Evora. The front-engine RWD layout of the Corvette is just as important to its legacy as the rear-engine layout is to the 911. Do the laws of physics say it works the best? No. But the engineers make it work as well as they can because the legacy is as much a part of the car as the performance. If passion and tradition were removed from the equation, Porsche's top dog would be a Cayman GT2 and GM would have made the Corvette mid-engined years ago.

Ha! I figured everyone would feel that way about the lambo/Vette thing.
