Great post

copied it to my "how to" folder

following is not exactly on subject but may be related

don't know if the following applies to corvettes, but on my 2004 Silverado I changed the battery and upon starting the truck had heat and no A/C

talked to dealer service dept and they asked if I had turned the HVAC system to OFF before disconnecting the battery

I didn't and he said that caused the control module to lose memory and it had to be reset with their Tech 2 tool

$100 later it was good again

from now on I'll turn HVAC off in all GM cars when disconnecting the battery

thanks for that valuable info. 👍🏻

Where is the Ic OP AMP L2722 located and how do you replace it? I have replaced the drivers and passenger actuators, taken it to two air conditioner shops (Freon is right on, no vacuum issues). One said it had to be bad actuators (I bought Dorman) so he replaced them, kept it two weeks and finally gave up. I have tried resetting more time than I can count. I also replaced the climate control module. Maybe the $1.33 IC Op Amp is worth a try. I get nothing but hot air on the driver’s side and cold on the passenger

Never herd of it. Unless it is actually on the control head circuit board.

Here are some fasts:
1 The actuators move diverter flaps inside the air box to control temp for each side. If the temps are always the same, the actuators are not seeing the signal to move the flaps OR the actuators are the wrong ones. The actuator for the manual HVAC system looks the same but it wont work. Make sure you have the correct actuators.

2. You can remove the actuator/s and manually move the shaft/s for the actuator/s

3. You can connect the actuator/s to the harness connector (actuator not installed of air box) and see if it getting power, ground and control signal.

4. Test the HVAC MINI FUSE 18 Use a multimeter and test the two test points on TOP of the fuse to chassis ground.. Check the ground/s on pin# 7 on the actuators with an ohm meter (secure) power to the HVAC Module

I recall a post somewhere here awhile back where a member was having similar difficulties, and discovered one or two doors were frozen. The actuators aren't powerful enough to overcome seized door pivot points. So I agree with what Bill said about trying to move the doors thru their range to connect to the actuators. This would reveal whether, or not, the doors can move freely thru their range of motion. I cut my return hose to the expansion tank, and installed a small petcock type valve so no hot water can flow to the heater core. Since I don't drive the car in cold temps, this has worked great for me. If it gets too cold, I simply turn the valve on. I'm going to get my actuators replaced soon. Because it's the right way to do things. But I'm also keeping my shutoff valve, because a C5 doesnt need any additional heat in the cabin, even when all is working perfectly. So I'll continue to keep the hot water shut off in the Summer......
