Pretty cool, I wonder if they put a super large gas tank in it since they won't be needing the space for the soft top...

Poorhousenext 06-25-2011 09:02 PM

I think you guessed right about him knowing his stuff.

I do believe you were talking with Vette Daddy.

Can't believe you missed his post on building the tops.

I don't think that was Vette Daddy. I talked to this guy (first pic bright red shirt) for a bit.

corvetteronw 06-25-2011 09:33 PM

I heard him (red shirt) tell some folks that this was actually a GM prototype car that they were rebuilding. Couple more pics:

Looks good to me... It will be interesting to see how Mike Terry's and Vette daddy's cars will look with the altered roof line...

csherman 06-26-2011 01:47 PM

I looked the car over VERY well
It is a late(r) 54 car....
Press molded with late 54 body mounts...

Flint300 06-29-2011 02:14 AM

This is possibly the second one that he has done, if I remember correctly he posted a couple years ago that he completed a seafoam green one like this.
He also owns or did own a 53 serial #29.

Kerrmudgeon 06-29-2011 12:34 PM

I don't care if it's THE prototype, or a 54, it's very cool.....ME LIKEY!
Thanks for posting all the pics. It would have been a winner to me.

No problem there are several great pictures of the Corvair on the Covette Action Center too. It even has alot more headroom than a normal Corvette.

what do you consider early? i know it has two hood pulls, but that still covers a wide range of cars.
