Have you checked the voltage in the fob switch ??? I had the same problem voltage was low even though the green / red light would come on. Replaced the battery and problem went away. Hope this helps

I sort of had the same problem with my viper car alarm. The light would show but, wouldn't arm the alarm. Changed the battery in the remote and it started working again.

Chuck it and buy a $4.95 switch from Radio Shack.

Pull the fuse. Wild is the only way.

Good move....hard wired works great.

My M2W came with two remotes. Are you having the identical problem with both remotes?

jwbert 10-10-2011 09:02 PM

Batteries

I had the same problem with both remotes, batteries were low in both even though the red transmit light came on. New batts, no probs

Can you hear the switch click when you press the remote? Mine stopped working and I found that a vacuum line came off one of the actuators in the rear. Easy fix.

you need a new battary for the fob. Light will still work with a weak battary. Mine did the same and when I replaced the battary, all was well. Get it from Radio Shack.

You can replace it with mine. Had it on the car for only 2 months then got the Akrapovics installed. Don't know why I did it but I just had to have the price Akrapovic exhaust controller. It looks cool, but no way worth $350.00.:willy:

I am a dumb ass.:D

Anyone want my 99% new M2W controller? $55.00 shipped to your door (continental US only). If you want to go Paypal, you got to pick up the fees (minimal).

I will post this in the For Sale section, but this post was relevant.

You say the M2W quit working - what do you mean???:confused2:

Are the valves closed and your M2W won't open them?

Do the valves open when you accelerate and the RPM goes up past where they should open normally?

Or, are they open all the time?

If they are open all the time the problem is most likely NOT your M2W switch.

The valves require engine vacuum to close them, so if they are open all the time you've probably got o loose, broken, or split vacuum tube somewhere.

I had the same thing happen to one of the remotes. Wound up throwing it out. What i did was program one of the home link buttons and that works all the time.

How do you program your home link button to it?

You need a 2006 built in October or earlier to use Home Link, but here's the instructions on how to program....
