c5 Rear fender flare suggestion help.

Hi,

Currently purchased a nice set of C6 Z06 chrome rims..

Size: rear 325/30/19

I am looking for a good clean quality rear flared fenders for my 2001
C5 convertible..

I don't like duraflex.. I regret buying my 350z kit from them..

Thank you....

Search L5 or TPE flared rear quarters also CORVETTE CREATIONZ has some coming out soon. Good luck!

Youre gonna need a 5/8" spacer for those rear wheels to sit properly.

BHRZ06 11-20-2011 07:57 PM

Run l5's with a 3/4 inch spacer i got mine from h&r heres mine with l5s and c6z spec'd rims. I love how wide the l5s make the car feel from the rear, kind of like a c6z on steroids. Ignore the rear diffuser fit its on its way to being replaced.

Do some research

Have a real grudge with L5 - so take that into consideration. I consider them low life suppliers. Poor quality and honest communication is the exception to the rule. It took me almost a year to get my money back from L5 and they went down kicking and screaming.

TPE - excellent communication and far better quality. Some body shops don't want to do the required prep on the L5's. Plus if you look at the difference in appearance, in my opinion, one looks like an add on with no real lines (L5) and the other like it was OEM (TPE). With TPE you also have the option of going front and back flares.

In any case, do your homework and then enjoy.

Anyone got a pic of a C5 with TPE and a C5 with L5's side by side..
For a comparison..

Yes the c6 style rear from quik, It fit really nice for a fiberglass part. They are redoing the molds for the carbon diffuser, I will post pics when i get the new one installed

Listen to this guy...these are the facts. C6Z spec'd wheels with 3/4 inch...exactly what I run. I run 345's on the back. My car got 10x the attention from random people when I went this route. From the back and rear 3/4 view, the L5's make the car look the way GM should've made the Z06 body. L5 fit was pretty good...a few tweaks necessary, but nothin big.

http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/...23/VET13-3.jpg L5's and love them, but as stated my body man hated working with them. But that's what I paid them for so I wouldn't have to do it. They turned out great and get a lot of attention!!! L8R FLASH

Flared Fenders

Hey , Thanks for the info..

What about the TPE fenders?
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...nels-pics.html

Or should I just go with the L5?

Also can you point where I can buy the 3/4 spacers?

Thanks..

Next thing I want to do, CAM & Headers..

I installed Drilled Rotors and MagnaFlows..

I love that, who still sells these? TPE's site is under construction and I haven't come up with any dealers...

The Op is running factory wheels so you are right. I was thinking
about my wheels which are aftermarket. Big difference.
