Garage Art using Corvette rear bumper...
1 Attachment(s)
Today, I purchased a complete Corvette bumper to hang on my garage wall. I'm going to put it on the wall directly in front of my Grand Sport parking space.
I'm wondering how to hook up the electrical so that it lights up. I've also thought of some sort of motion detector so that it lights up when I pull into the garage. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

Kick ass idea. There are kits that do exactly what your wanting that to do u may have to buy one and rewire it I got my kit at home depot |
West Coast Corvettes in Anaheim, California, has a C5 and a C6 bumper up on the wall. Illuminated, the look is totally hot.

That desk is hot! Any addl info on the construction?
I just found the desk for $2500. |
Set up your rear cover with led 120v system. You can buy relatively cheap controls for the lamps. That would be cool.

 light her up!!

How does this look:
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...lit-bumper.jpg And now for the lights: http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r.../litbumper.jpg I run mine off of an old battery which I keep attached to a trickle charger. Used some standard wall switches to control the light circuits: 1) Running Lights, 2) Brake Lights, and 3) Backup. Also, if you want to mount the bumper flat to the wall, you need to cut the bottom off, so it follows the same width as the top and sides. PM me if you have any questions. BTW, REDVET is the plate on my 64 Coupe!!!! |

When I did my museum delivery in Nov 05 you could buy that and a few other pieces in the factory when we did the tour. Maybe they still do it.

Unless I'm mistaken most automatic sprinklers run off a 12V transformer plugged into a wall socket. Wire in a pressure switch under a mat and when you drive onto it the switch would trigger the brake lights to let you know you've pulled in far enough. :)

I almost bought a rear C6 bumper to do the same but was searchin on craigslist one day and found a C5 wall art version for $100 so I jumped on it. It's going up on my front garage wall tonight. Works out good because both my C5 and curent C6 are Silver.
