Code correct Daytona Yellow exterior, code correct Black vinyl interior, Black convertible top. 390hp 454ci engine, numbers matching M21 4 speed manual transmission, date coded 3.70 posi rear-end case. Originally assembled on July 9, 1970, this 1970 Corvette 454 Convertible received an extensive body-on restoration from 1996-98, and is in very nice condition. Furthermore, this car was awarded the NCRS 2nd Flight award with a score of 92 points when it was judged in 2000. This car's paint is in very good to excellent condition, with a deep shine. Convertible top is in very good condition, with a very good condition window. All exterior glass in this car shows a correct date code. Weatherstripping is in very good condition, and the exterior door handles function with no rubbing issues, and show a good condition finish. This car wears a set of rally wheels, which are in good condition, with very good condition trim rings and center caps. Tires are BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised white letter, showing an average of 9/32nds tread depth remaining. The interior of this 1970 Corvette 454 Convertible shows good condition seat covers and steering wheel, and excellent condition gauges. Dash pad is in very good condition, as is the center console, which shows no cracks. GM seatbelts are present, and look to be original. Clock is working at this time with what appears to be a quartz movement. Fiber optics system is also working at the time of this writeup. Correct appearing AM/FM radio is in place. Carpet is correct loop style, and in very good condition with no fading or apparent wear. Storage bins are in very good condition as well. The engine in this 1970 Corvette 454 Convertible shows casting number 3963512, casting date February 19, 1970, and final assembly date February 27, 1970. Stamp pad shows a "CGV" suffix. Based on this information, this engine was likely an LS4 originally installed in a 1970 Caprice or Impala, according to nastyz28.com. This engine would have been originally rated at 345hp. Both exhaust manifolds show correct casting numbers for a 1970 Corvette with a 454ci engine, as well as the carburetor. Correct spark plug wires and ignition shielding are in place. Frame appears to be solid and rust-free. Many documents will accompany this car, including the original bill of sale, warranty booklet, photos of the restoration process, and many invoices and receipts. Notable replaced items in these receipts include re-chromed bumpers, sill plates, front spoiler, trim rings, speedometer and tachometer cable, carpet, seat covers and foam, exhaust, weatherstripping, convertible top, electric fuel pump, center console, shift plate, and emblems. Also included are invoices from 1994 detailing the rebuilding of the engine with performance parts, which should put this engine closer to 400hp. This car has been fully serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are all in good operating condition.
