Whats the best Supercharger for the L98?
 

I'm considering installing a supercharger on a basically stock L98? Anybody have any suggestions on which one I should use? :confused:

I like my Procharger D-1 but they now make a D-1SC (self contained) so you dont have to tap the oil pan. I have no problems with boost that is for sure. and i paid like 3999.95 for mine and it has 2 1-core air/air intercoolers.

Is it advisable to install a SC on a higher mileage motor (84,000 miles). Should I do a compression test first and if so what should I have before I can safely install a SC? :cheers:

I don't have any experience with either, but from my research I prefer the carroll (vortech) superchargers for L98's.

ATI or Vortech is the way to go. I like ATI because they come with intercooler. Some people buy vortech kit and buy ATI intercooler which is about $1300.

The LS1 systems are completely different than the L98 systems. This is comparing apple to oranges. Vortech doesn't even make a L98 S/C system, Carroll makes a system using a Vortech Supercharger.
