Moving IAT sensor
Getting ready to have a meth kit installed and would like to move the IAT sensor to the intake manifold opening, but have a few questions.
I believe this is the correct harnass. Right? http://www.casperselectronics.com/st...oducts_id=1137 For the new IAT sensor, is this the right part? http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=12614717 Description just says "computer control sensor". Car is a 2011 Grand Sport. Thanks:flag: |
Yes on the harness, no idea on the sensor from that part number. Go to any local auto store and just ask for an IAT sensor for a c5 vette. I got one at carquest for $19. They are easy to find locally.

Is it actually called an IAT sensor, or are you using an ambient air sensor and installing it in the intake?
Is this the correct sensor http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...P_RecType%3aA)? |

Yea, thats where I found the "12614717" part number, but in that thread they say its $20, on the website it only $10. Also they say it looks like a threaded sensor, but there is no picture and basically no description on the website. Maybe for $10 I should just try it.

I used the push-in style IAT sensor and installed it in the intake manifold itself on my LS3. http://www.casperselectronics.com/st...cef8d5cba7d790
I felt this would be better than trying to tap threads in my plastic manifold. I just bought a grommet assortment and found one that fit very tight. My sensor is definitely not leaking or coming out on it's own. I also used the break-out harness from Casper's and it works great. |
Thanks for the pic 07:thumbs:
After doing a little more searching, I thought that might be the right part but just wasn't sure. Street- I was/am a little concerned about trying to thread the sensor into a plastic manifold too, but haven't heard of anyone having problems with that set-up. |
