DTC Codes, need help with meanings.
These are the codes showing on my cluster display:
28-TCS DTC C1233 RF Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted - possible dead wheel sensor DTC C1243 BPMV Pump Motor Stalled - ??? DTC C1277 Requested Torque Signal Circuit Malfunction - even bigger ????? I'm pretty sure these were due to a dying or dead battery. AO-LDCM DTC B2282 Battery #1 Circuit DTC B2284 Battery #2 Circuit A1-RDCM DTC B2283 Battery #1 Circuit DTC B2285 Battery #2 Circuit |

The LDCM and RDCM messages are likely battery related. Low battery or bad battery or loose or corroded battery connections.
The TCS codes could be the result of a bad EBCM or they could also be corroded connections or grounds. Here's a thread with some info about C1243 worth reading. For code C1233 I'd pull the wheel, separate the connector to the wheel speed sensor and look at the condition of the contacts. I'll bet that on a 2000 year C5 they are corroded or damaged. I'd also check the connectors on the other 3 wheels while I was at it. For the C1277 code, have you cleared this code and does it return???? htere is plenty of reading if you do an extended search co C1277 in both title and text . Could be a battery issue, could be a ground at the EBCM, could be a ground at the PCM or could be a damaged wire at the EBCM or it could be a bad EBCM. Well guys, I replaced the battery at the first of the year. It died one moring when I went out to turn the car on.
As for the other codes, I guess I'll be doing some reading. :D |
Let me toss in here to about the 1243 code. I had that happen to me as well. I followed the forum suggestions for manually powering the BPMV motor and it spun slow at first then picked up speed within a few tries. After putting things back together, I found that I still got the code about once out of every three times of starting up. I went back and did the manual power thing to the BPMV again yet it ran at full speed...so I measured the battery and it was at 12.6vdc static. Knowing that and its age of several years, I replaced the battery and now the 1243 code is gone.
I can't say that your issue is the battery but pairing the door control module codes that do indicate a low battery and the 1243 code, you might want to replace your battery, clear all codes, then see what comes back the next cold start. |
