Corvette Z06 Drift

Hi Guys,

I have a question, I want to start some drifting in my stock Corvette Z06.

I have heard that I should not be a good car ford drift, but why isn't it good for drifting ?

And what tires would you use ?
The regular 18" in front and 19" in the back ? Ore also 18" in the back ? And which size ? 245/40?

Thank you very much for you kind reply and help.

Best regards,
Christian

really half-ass response here but the guys out here that drift one have some sort of knuckle mod so that they can get more lock out of the steering. Otherwise the car has more tendency to rotate around. Then again, Tiff Needel didn't seem to have any troubles drifting a stock one in his review.

For tires I would certainly not stay with 19's in the rear, as they will break the bank in a hurry. I'd also run something narrower than the 325's, something closer to a square setup.

That's the best I can respond with my very limited knowledge. There's a lot more to drifting than meets the eye. Most all of it is driver.

Who said they don't make good drift cars?

When someone talks about drifting a Corvette I always think of this video...

U.M.

(*WARNING* Some colorful language at the end of the vid)

You certainly can drift it, but it's not the easiest thing to fully control sideways.

I'm pretty sure the Z06 is the ultimate "steer with the rear" car. HOWEVER, being a carbon/aluminum frame, getting it wrong is going to mean getting a new car.

I find the turning radius (wheel lock) to be a limitation for drifting with the Vette.
