Why is theres such a broad range of dyno #'s for stock S/C C6Z06's?

I recently picked up a 2009 C6Z06. I've been debating heads/cam 575-600rwhp NA type combo or a just bolt on a supercharger. ET goals are to run 9.7X's at 140mph++. Typically most will tell me go with an A&A kit. I'd like if going supercharged to keep the car close to stock and just a blower 5-6psi. Most likely put some meth for safety. I figure a blower keeps driveability, easy to remove if going to sell the car and less frowned on if selling the car with it on versus a cammed up car.
I've been doing some searches and talking to some good friends I'll even name drop Fran at Race Proven Motorsports cause I bugged him and he answered some questions for me. THERE FRAN HAPPY NOW? LOL!
Looking for some insight into what combos are more proven for longevity and best bang for the buck type kits. I keep seeing a huge range of HP/TQ on these supercharger kits on C6Z06's stock with S/C. Ranging from 580rwhp up to near 700rwhp. Now the higher HIGHER ones typically are running E85. I'm thinking for my ET goals supercharger wise I'd have to put out close 650rwhp. NA I'd probably have to put down closer to 575-600rwhp.

So can you guys shed some light on why such a broad range maybe leave out the biggest factor being the dyno, type of dyno and outside air temp as they are obvious factors. I"m not opposed to headers, offroad xpipe to finish up the idea. If someones selling kit by all means post up:thumbs: Thanks in advance

depends on tune, elevation (Denver vs York), personal preference (are you man enough to push the limit alittle bit or are you goin to have have it tuned to pull all the timing to save the motor)

You will need to find someone that knows how to drive and is not just a waxer!! Couldn't help myself......:rofl:

Sir please give me your home address. I'm gonna send you a kick in the nuts!:toetap: and you're paying half of shipping!

Some people don't mind running more boost, some have headers, some a cam.

~650rwhp with a blower and headers should be about normal.

I have a 2008 zo-6 with an A&A kit, dewitt's and Paxton sl1500 ARH 1 7/8
3inch xpipe no meth. Which since we only had 1 90 degree day in 2011.
I don't feel it's needed. I was to move south you bet I'd have it!
Stock catback with mild to wild! LPE ls-9 clutch 3.8 pulley 12 degree's of timing tuned by Tom Wong. 8 psi of boost!
Same everything on A&A website! Shows 675rwhp and 599 rwtq.
On my tuning day it just extended too late (1am) due to problems that got fixed at the last minute and it was heat soaked
225 degree's, still made 600 at only 5800 rpm.
I have 20,000 problem free boosted miles!
It runs like a monster on the street! Don't see the need when you can smack down 1000cc bikes!

Fartpipe,

I run the ECS 1500 kit on my car. Had the A&A before(2 kits) and like the ECS better. I've watched you drive for a long time, and you should have no problem running 9's with just a basic kit. The powercurve is going to be way different than your ZR1 will be, which you know. Running 9.70's will be very hard at 600rwhp in a blown Z06, if you are running full street trim and drag radials, unless you get a negative DA. Much more likely in a 600rwhp NA car IMO.

I ran 9.81, 9.81,9.88, 9.90 at 800rwhp in my C6 with a cage, and no weight removed and no skinnies at my first track rental(20-25mph headwind). Full street trim. I run 295/45-17 tires that I drive daily, and launch at around 3000-3500rpm. I can't go any higher than this since I'm still on the 100% factory rear end/tranny, and no brace. I think you will be able to get away with low 1.4 60ft's with the z06 rear. Good luck!

Here is a pass at a test n tune night, my first 9(9.84). This was a 1.46 60ft. Didn't pull the wheels like your car did though, but I'm still learning how to drive these cars. I don't powershift either like I did in my mustangs.

Forced induction is dumb :thumbs::rofl:

Ha yeah, I hate FI right about the time I put my foot into it. :)

NormWild 04-13-2012 11:46 AM

580 to 700 whp is not a huge disparity, especially when dealing with FI, there tons of variables, pulley size, tune, elevation, fuel, dynos, etc. From what I've seen base centri kits, either Paxton, Vortech, or Procharger are making around 630 whp on a safe tune, 93 octane, 6-7 lbs of boost.

8lbs with a stock bottom end? I'm in the same boat...max effort n/a around 615-630rwhp or FI with stock bottom end and h/c/LTs/fast intake and 160*...decisions, decisions:crazy:

DarkKnight Z 08-29-2012 12:24 PM

Those 9 second runs on a stock LS7 with boost is pretty damn impressive! I blew my LS7 going through like 3 or 4 bottles of N2O and ever since then I didn't trust the LS7 for mods.

Still, looks like with 20k miles on the supercharger you are doing well. Great bang for your buck for sure!
