New C6 Wheels/Tires & Lowered

Lots of pics. Dial-up beware. :D

Got me some new, (to me), C6 silver painted wheels.
Fronts: 18x8.5....Rears: 19x10. (Using 1.5" wheel hub-centric adapters, rear only)

Brand new tires to go on them. Hankook V12s
Fronts: 255/40/18....Rears: 285/35/19.

I had a bad, lower ball-joint on the driver's side. So, while I had the front end apart any way, I pulled the spring out and shaved the top pads down by 1/2" and the spring pads on the ends were shaved 50%, as well. I also had to cut down the spring retainers 1/2" to eliminate any slop around the spring. (Sorry, no pics of any of the work done) :hide:

On the rear, I re-drilled the holes in the spring bolts as close to the end as I safely could for the cotter-pins. That let me extend the nuts about 7/8". It doesn't sound like much, but it dropped the car enough for the tire to fill out the wheel-well nicely.

Looks nice, how do the Hankooks ride? My son has them on his Infiniti and loves them.

They really fill up the wheel well nicely. Did you have to get a 1.5" spacer, would a 1" work? It looks like the tires stick out a little.

Lowered makes the wheel fit so much better and really sets off the look of your car, nice job.

They are like riding on air. So smooth and quiet, too.

A 1" adapter would have been a better choice, but I got a good deal on these. They look like they stick out more in the pics than in person. :)

Looks great, and you'll LOVE the V12's! I had them on my C5 and I miss them more than I miss the C5.
