'54 Roadster... Woody?

Read about it here: '54 Roadster... Woody?

This is probably the first and last time we'll see a Corvette with any wood on it at all. I'm not sure if that's something to be grateful for or not. Honestly? I think it's kinda cool and well done, but man is it weird to look at. Check it out in the link above or jump to the gallery here.

Guy has big brass ones to take it to a meet. The critics must have been rabid.

Nice car. Terrible additions.

Looks like it's just the trunk lid. Removable?

To each his own.:lol::lol:

That's a fact, it has been around for many years. I first saw it out at a Shaker village outside Bowling Green, Ky in 1992 during the groundbreaking for the Corvette Museum. Got Zora's autograph as well on the Corvette bulldozer but that's another story...

Thanks,

Mike

It's a Philippine mahogany drop-in after removing the deck lid. George is a GM Styling retiree, and just had the car restored (for the second time in the 50 years he's owned it) three years ago. :thumbs:

Was there an intended use for this tub?

Saw it many times at Werner Meier's shop (Masterworks). I just couldn't make myself take a close look at it.:ack:
