The new trans in C7
Met a guy in Germany, his friend works with ZF. He is 100% that ZF is going into C7, it will be a 7 speed, and i looked up their products. They do have a 7 speed, its used in Panamera and 911 Turbo, so it can handle torque:thumbs:
Anyone know the weight on T6060 and rear end ? This unit is supposedly 110 kg, aprox 240 pounds Could it be? we finally get a tranny where i can flick the padle midturn and nothing but pure accelaration happens  http://www.zf.com/corporate/en/produ...smission.shtml Rune |
Interesting...

The only way to go.

Are you sure its the DCT and not the manual trans??
|
I hope your friend is correct. That would be awesome. Based on the video, the ZF DCT is good for just over 500 ft-lbs of torque (after doing the conversion from N-m to ft-lbs).

My guess is it will be the 7MT not the 7DT. Still very nice.

The more I start to read about the C7, the more I want it come out of the darkness and be listed for sale. That and be able to come up with the $. Being I want to pay with cash VS 36-60 month loan. ( I am big on paying right then and there vs a "I will pay it off later" type thinking.)

Manual transmissions are going the way of the horse and buggy. :yesnod: |
ZF builds the non DCT 8 speed that is in the F Type and the Chrysler 300. This may be the trans that that is heading to the C7

A 7 speed manual was 'almost' confirmed quite some time ago, it's the automatic that was still up in the air. :yesnod:

Manual transmissions are going the way of the horse and buggy. :yesnod: If it does not show up in the first year of production, hopefully it will show up in the second or third year.:yesnod: |
