Is this normal

This is my new '13 coupe. Having a blast with my first Corvette.

I noticed an area where the hatch joins the side of the car, doesnt seem perfectly flush like on the other side. Its not very noticeable unless you crouch down to get at eye level with it, Not sure if the dealer could do anything about it anyways... Have you seen this same thing on your vette?

There's an adjustment knob on the top corner of the hatch. You can screw it in to adjust the lid down slightly.

You'll also notice over time that based on the ambient temperatures, the panels will fit better or worse. My 2007 and 2012 both did that. Oddly enough my 08 Z did not.

Agree with the above.... just screw the little rubber thingy in a bit until it sits flush.... I will bet a turkey sammich it works:thumbs:

Given that it's a Chevrolet, I've learned that when I "crouch and examine", I find stuff, lol. I've noticed the common fit issue on the front bumper seam, outer headlight area, where it joins the engine lid. Other complaints on this Forum about interior gap irregularities between the dash and the "A" pillar. None of this bothers me anymore because, overall, I love the car so much. Sounds like your issue is an easy fix. Congrats on your new car.

Awesome , I will give this a try when I get back , thanks for this tip Mounce and LS1!

Congratulations, mg777! Hopefully this is an easy fix - looking forward to an update.

"New" car under full warranty, why not let the dealer check it out and have their body guy make adjustments to the deck lid. Also gives you a record if the problem pops up again, pardon the pun or there is more involved than meets the eye.

I made an adjustment of the knob mentioned early, I will take photo and post tomorrow. I think it' signicantly better, I will take a photo for comparison tomorrow and post here.

I am planning to take the car to the dealership to have some splash guards installed & ill have them take a look at it anyways just to cover all the bases!

Interesting. I just bought a 2013 GS coupe and have the same issue. However, after adjusting the "rubber thingys" I haven't seen any difference. Both of the rear ones are adjusted all the way in now. Am I missing something?
