$90,000.00

I took the wifes car to the dealer for a raditor flush (grand prix) and walked around the show room. They had the 427 corvette that is in the comercials on the show room. It is a beautiful car but holy hell $90,000.00!!

James2002z06 11-27-2012 06:36 PM

It's crazy

I went to Houston a while back to look at two C6 Z06s and yeah holy cow is what we said to they were both still in the middle 50's
We are hoping after a year they will start coming down after the release of the 7

jrose7004 11-27-2012 06:40 PM

We have one in our club.

calinator 11-27-2012 07:32 PM

The LS7 is amazing. Shame I wanted one someday but I constantly hear about the valve issue...

renegad44 11-27-2012 08:00 PM

I know you are talking 427, but this ZR1 was at a Corvette show I took in weekend before Thanksgiving, sticker price was $121k+. Beautiful car!!!

:iagree:
One of the White 2013 427 Verts with the blue stripes and the carbon fiber hood was at a local car gathering earlier this month. It was extremely impressive and for me the ultimate C6. I only wish all the street talk centered around the 427 being a bullet proof engine.

You can get a barely used ZR1 for that price. :willy:

No offense brother but any car can be made to go fast.

In the end you're still in a 12 year old car and he is in a brand new ZR1.

Chilliwack vettes 11-28-2012 07:22 AM

These pics are a few years old but the price tag is still a shocker!

4deatr 11-28-2012 07:31 AM

That is why I put in a 383 with a supercharger. Saved lots of money over a new car and faster then most and I have the title.

sfc rick 11-28-2012 08:41 AM

That's the struggle that I face everyday, do I go out and buy a $80,000 dollar car?.... or be happy with the one I got? Mine is faster, looks great, custom built by me, paid for, and can be upgraded engine wise to even greater levels.

Or I could have one of those carbon fiber special edition Z06's that a guy I know has spent close to $90,000 and parked it next to mine and was pissed all day long at a car show. Crowds just walked by to gather around mine taking pics of them standing by it, totally blowing by his ride.

I think it's very difficult for the average person to know the difference between one model and another. They all look good and only the Corvette "people" or car guys really appreciate the different levels of fitment. If you are like some of us who have far better performing cars, it's a no brainer.

My car ($30,000 + total) is the "most" car I've ever owned. Maybe when I grow up and have the money, I'll be able to have more cars and blow $100,000 on one, just to say I threw that much cash away and still got blown away by a 15 year old Vette.

DarkBlueC5 11-28-2012 08:57 AM

It's easy to forget that these cars can get expensive. You get in a Z or a GS with 3LT or 4LT options packages, you are getting up there 70k+ in price. That's a lot of scratch for the working man with a family. Don't know that I'd ever buy one brand new. In a couple years I'm thinking my 2000 gets retired for a 2010-ish Grand Sport (LOVE the wide body) or something along those lines. Let someone else pay for the depreciation first!

And you do it all without a warranty. More likely, most ZR1 owners don't care as they'll still kick your ass around a race track.

If his upgrades include suspension as well as power train...ZR1 guys still gonna cry, unless they already know the C5 is still a racecar in sheeps clothing.

The C5 is still a killer platform. :smash:

That's the conversation we were having not long ago, and, I believe the Blitzkrieg has the whole suspension/powertrain upgrades too, and from what I've read, he'd kill a ZR1.

Not on his drag radials he wont.

Dream C5 11-28-2012 06:35 PM

There are about two C5s I've seen that ill take over a zr1, one being GBVETTE. I love the C5 platform as much as anyone but to seriously compare one to a ZR1 is madness.

Cosmic Charlie 11-28-2012 06:46 PM

POWERBALL tonight
new covette collection tomorrow !

Vetteman Jack 11-28-2012 09:43 PM

I agree that the 427 vert looks fantastic, but no way in heck will I ever pay that kind of money for a car.

Bad ass car but the color just doesn't do much for me. I liked the Nassau blue early C5's but mainly because they are rare...

Perhaps so, consider my opinion registered. I probably wouldn't have even done that were it not for the douche bag comment by the guy talking about Blitz's "still a 12 yr old car"

Sorry bout that. It may not have been meant douchy but it came across douchy. I agree though, BFD. That being the case, I don't get the point of the comment. Anyway, enough said. ::cheers:
