Over the top?

So my wife (and just about everyone else that sees my garage), thinks I am over the top with the orange cones and barriers protecting my girl. I told them I was going to post some pics on the forum and see what the members consensus is. I am sure from reading this forum for some time that there will be good deal of agreement and a good deal of "it's only a car", although my belief is the former will prevail! Hopefully I will have some ammo to use next time my wife things I'm crazy and "love my car more than her" lol. Thanks for the input.

OK, the car is very well protected, but I'd have to agree with your better half that this is going way overboard. :D

mcandrew67 11-29-2012 11:09 AM

No you're not crazy....... you're F***ing crazy:D

LFZ 11-29-2012 11:12 AM

Its in the garage...what are you protecting it from?

scapegoat 11-29-2012 11:13 AM

way over. I'll have to take a picture of my garage. i've a couple inches clearance on either side of the vette pulling in, once its mostly in i turn the wheel to angle it so i can skirt past the panel saw that is being stored, so i can open the door enough to get out.

NaplesDoc427 11-29-2012 11:13 AM

Thanks! LMAO, so far I'm not doing too well!

Homer3D 11-29-2012 11:14 AM

I agree with your wife. That is way over the top.

dvilin 11-29-2012 11:17 AM

You have lost it pal, that is way over the top, plus it looks like crap.

LMB-Z 11-29-2012 11:20 AM

What/who are you protecting it from? What happens when you drive it and other cars get close? Are you afraid someone is going to go out there and do something to it while it is parked in your garage? Its a Chevrolet.

4SUMERZ 11-29-2012 11:22 AM

I just noticed, that you are protecting it from everything but airborne contaminants. :ack:

There seems to be an "unprotected area" in the back. A couple of road guards with flags will close that right up.

mcandrew67 11-29-2012 11:28 AM

well you are 0 for 11, give it up Wife 1 Hubby 0

twinarrow99 11-29-2012 11:28 AM

Your first name would not be Beldar, by chance? As a fellow OCD car care guy, this is hilarious!

:iagree: now man up and go remove that stuff :toetap:

JLMounce 11-29-2012 11:29 AM

I see that as a bunch of potential projectiles aimed at your car! If somebody where to be leaning over to take a closer look, they may fall and send all those cones, barrier wall and pole in the direction of your car.

If it's in the garage I think a simple sign on the windshield that says look but don't touch is probably adequate.

I'm gonna go with overboard.

EuroRod 11-29-2012 11:32 AM

It really depends who is parking next to you. My wife uses the braile method for parking. My car goes on the rack and is raised 3 feet every time it goes into the garage, which is where it lives.

Kvothe 11-29-2012 11:37 AM

:lolg:

:spit:

Nothing wrong with being protective but that is taking it a little too far. The cones even look new....don't tell me you went out and bought all those just for this occasion.

SLAZ06 11-29-2012 11:40 AM

It all depends on the traffic in your garage. Are kids going in n out? Is there another driver that might park too close and hit it opening a car door? And finally your financial position. If it was a strech to buy the vet and maybe your only new one ever, no you are not over the top. If none of the above conditions apply your are OCDC.
