Waiting for the C7 ?????
Like many of you, I've been waiting to see the C7 and holding off buying the 2013 427 Anniverwsary vert until GM finally showed the car.
well....HERE'S THE LATEST POSSIBILITY. A definite cousin of the Camaro: http://www.insideline.com/chevrolet/...strations.html  |
I hope not!!!

I've seen some nice artist renditions based on the what is known about the C7. That is not one of them! :ack:
I am excited whenever a new generation Corvette makes its debut. The fact that the C7 only has two small carry-over parts from the C6 is great news since I always felt the C6 was more of a C5.5 in terms of moving the ball forward. We know there will be performance improvements and the talk is that the interior will also be much improved. I hope so because I have started my Z06 stable mate fund and the only question is whether it will be a C6 or C7 Z06. Regardless, and to keep this C5-related, I am keeping my 2004 vert. GM simply does not make cars this good looking any more. |
Woof!!! That's fugly!
It looks like it could transform into an angry kitchen appliance. My c5 looks better 'n' better. Gunny John |

AMAZING, I like!! Nothing incommon with the Camaro...but we will all have to wait to see!!

I can wait to form an opinion until I actually see the car that is unveiled. Only a couple of weeks to wait.

To me the Corvette started as a Sports Car, then transformed into the American ultimate teenage fantasy/sexy-looking hot rod/race car that only the wealthiest people could afford usually for the rich kid in school (in 1965 my town was only allocated one Corvette to sell and it sat on a Turret in the showroom for months before it sold at that price) It then evolved a more sophisticated street machine with the C4, to an all out exotic with the C5.
Following the C5, the "evolution" apparently stopped. The C6 was not a "devolution", but a change in direction away from the exotic-european sexy-look with some utilitarian properties, to more to a track-ready race car that was far less exotic in its look, smaller in every respect, no longer really an evolving street-cruiser out of the box and started to be purchased by (from my experience) a generally different type of person (with exceptions of course). The higher end versions have virtually no justifiable attributes for everyday street use just bragging rights at an outrageous cost. There are LOTS of C5s where I live, but my eye catches them from a mile away still. C6s out here are knee-deep - everyone it seems has at least one or more - they are on every corner and sometimes 20 or more sitting on the local dealer lot. Usually I don't even notice them until they are right up on top of me since the distinctive all-curves styling is gone (they look like another Viper/Mitsubishi hybrid to me) - in fact the back end looks like it was inspired by the license plate it was issued. Not a bad design at all, just does not stand out in the crowd. If this is a realistic rendition of the C7, I am not sure how to quantify that monstrosity! Good news for me... I will be able to save my money through another generation. I am no longer their target audience - and I have purchased 10 NEW Corvettes from GM over the past 35 years - driven them almost every day of my adult life. I do like the new logo? |
Car and driver posted pictures of the C7 the other day.

I think the rear will grow on me though. |

If that's C7, then C6 is starting to 'grow' on me. :toetap:

Front of the car is simply awesome, modern and definitely fitting in with other modern supercars. The rear is hideous. I really hope they don't go with the Camaro tail lights. I'm glad I have my C6Z and was fortunate enough to get back into a C5(vert) again this past November!

I may keep my C5 forever.
