Is it rumored that it will be taller and or narrower?

It has been rumored to be narrower for a while.

Not rumored to be taller AFAIK. I think it could be a little lower.

interesting I would not think they would want to narrow it which would probably mean less grip. I'd also like to see it lower.

I think it has something to do with trying to increase their sales in Europe. Their streets are pretty darn tight in many places. You could argue that some BMWs are big pigs. I'm not sure what to reply to that.

There is a more concrete reason to believe that. The early mules used a C6 GS body, and the wheels were not filling the wheel wells because they were located too deep inside the body.

I think it will have 911 type rear seats as an option. They could do like Porsche where you have to pay extra in the GT3 RS to remove the rear seats, AC, and radio. I think I will wait for the C7 FF 4dr. Since GM is copying the F12, a C7 FF is around the corner, lol.

jkcam6017 01-10-2013 06:13 AM

I could not wait any longer, so I contacted the "Long Island Medium", here is what she said.

1. Base engine V6
2. Like Porsche there will be a 4 door model.
3. The A/T is being replaced with CVT.
4. There will be a ZR1 version, which will use an update of the old Bugatti 60 valve engine.
............should I go on?

2nd row seat option would not suprise me, however, it would be for groceries and small children only......911 does it, why not C7?

jimmyb 01-10-2013 09:44 AM

OK, I'll play:

1. 3,000 pounds (+/- 50) in BASE trim
2. Narrower front tires (than a base C6) because of lower weight and to decrease tramlining
3. 465 HP
4. No AFM on manual transmission
5. Much improved interior (that's an easy one)
6. More color choices than C6
7. F55 standard
8. Battery in back
9. NO BACK SEAT
10. MSRP $52,000

Great list! I'll go along with all but I just don't buy that they would give F55 as standard equipment AND the HP...I'm on record with 496 hp and I will stick with it no matter how bad a guess it is.

you can bet that if the Viper shrunk so will the Corvette...GM wants this car to have universal appeal and that means it needs to "fit" on their streets.

Yup, the C6 was smaller than the C5 and the C7 will be smaller than the C6. Tom Peters has said they wanted the C6 smaller so it do better on the streets overseas.

I can only imagine that the later C6 wide bodies kind of flew in the face of that effort.

That's because with the C6 the primary market was still the US....this however will change with the C7 which could mean no more wide body Corvette

Standard AL frame !

$$$frumnuttin' 01-10-2013 10:29 AM

ok, I'll play too...whatheheck....

An infotainment screen that will drive owners nuts with quirky glitches, unresponsive touch controls, and voice commands that get no response, or one completely opposite of what was requested. (think Ford MyTouch...I have one and it drives me crazy!:ack:)

An awful body color , such as a metallic white or a phlegm green....which seems to be mandatory now with all new cars:ack:

Runflats will continue to be the factory default tire:ack:

that's it for now...

:D I hope it has a crank to start the engine, for safety a decal to remind you to retard the spark prior to cranking. I hate when the engine kicks back.

That's what I think could happen. The C6 was the first generation to do this wide stuff. We'll just have to wait and see if it is the last.
