As for the C7, I am going with GT-R size interior cockpit with more headroom (taller roof/taller windshield). GM has something up their sleeve with this car. There will be shock and awe value, and it won't only be due to the new exterior styling. They extended that rear hatch that far back for a reason.

I cannot wait for the Sunday. I am waking up in the wee hours of the morning here in Bahrain to watch the live video stream.

Might be taller, here's a comparison of the c6 and one of the mules.

Round tail lights, rear end that looks nothing like the "leaked" renderings, front fascia looks very close to the MT pictures, 465HP in base engine, better interior/seats, but no fold-down rear seat...at least not for '14.

My prediction is that it will not look like any of the diversion tactic images (or mules)...........time will tell!

My prediction: it'll look stunning and a whole bunch of previously unhappy C6 owners will put in their deposit Monday morning.

No back seats or any of that and you'll have to squint very hard to confuse the taillights with a Camaro.

I've had people ask me if my C6 was one of the new Camaros. So, maybe to the highly discriminatory Corvette owner the tail lights won't look like Camaro tail lights but to the average person following a new vette it will be just another Camaro if the renderings are correct. Just as an example... As much as I've schooled my wife, she still can't tell the difference between a C3, C4, C5, C6 or even a Viper. Although, she does seem to recognize a Camaro when she sees one. So, if the new C7 tail lights are in any way at all, even slightly, Camaro-ish it will definitely confuse her.

My prediction is that the renderings we've seen will prove to be accurate. The interior will be a huge upgrade and the technology will be brought up to about 2010 standards. Still somewhat out of date but still a big improvement. As with all other generations the first impression will be to not quite like it (mostly because of the tail lights) but after a few months it will grow on almost everyone except the die hard haters (just like the change from C5 -> C6).

ok, I'll play too...whatheheck....

An infotainment screen that will drive owners nuts with quirky glitches, unresponsive touch controls, and voice commands that get no response, or one completely opposite of what was requested. (think Ford MyTouch...I have one and it drives me crazy!:ack:)

An awful body color , such as a metallic white or a phlegm green....which seems to be mandatory now with all new cars:ack:

Runflats will continue to be the factory default tire:ack:

that's it for now...

Hoping for the best, are we?

As far as runflats, Car and Driver said that Michelin won the battle over Goodyear for the C7 tire fitment, so, if true, that's great news.

yes, wouldn't it be cool to have a runflat delete option?

Great list! I'll go along with all but I just don't buy that they would give F55 as standard equipment AND the HP...I'm on record with 496 hp and I will stick with it no matter how bad a guess it is.

Ox,
I threw in F55 as standard because I'm HOPING it will be! It probably won't but I'll buy it anyway. It is the ONE option I will not do without.
And I hope you're right on the 496 HP, but that's quite a jump from "450 HP or more".

Yeah, it's totally wishful thinking, I'm sure.

I think we will find the lightest and most aerodynamic Corvette ever made :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: :thumbs:

It would. I have driven C6's with regular tires and it transforms the car. I was never brave enough to do it (install non-runflats), however.

By all accounts, the Michelin Pilot Sport runflats are vastly superior to any of the Goodyear RF's so let's hope C&D got that right.

If you are extrapolating the dimensions of the C7 based on the dimensions of the C6, it is important to use the correct dimensions of the C6.

The base C6 height is 49.1", not 47.1" or 45.6" as you indicate.

The overall length of the base C6 is 174.6", not 168.9" or 162.7" as you indicate.

The wheelbase of the C6 is 15.7", not 105.9" as you indicate.

The other problem is that you don't have a single one of those three dimensions of a C7 on which to use as a means of reference.

It's difficult to believe that GM would force an option(F55) that only 25% of the C6 buyers wanted, on 100% of the C7's buyers.

Very true, it's fine if F55 isn't standard, I'll just order then.

Lightest Corvette ever. The 1958 weighed 3050 lbs, the 2014 will weigh less than that. Considering everything that MUST be included in a modern vehicle, this is an impressive achievement

It does help to interpret what you're looking at in the correct context. Since there was no way to make a valid comparison on anything in any of the photo, the wheelbase was the driving force and the balance of the dimensions appear to represent lens distortion and camera perspective angles. Just a comparison, nothing scientific and no statements suggesting anything otherwise.

I think that Jalopnik got 90% of it right.

I dont know how they did it because GM did a Great job of hidding it until it was time.

They Put it in Grand Torismo and kept it masked (a move taken from the GTR) to get some Younger people interested.

They kept the Corvette Community alive with buzz.

They gave people just enough snap shots and created a " need to see".

End the end for them Sales count and they did every thing right... "NOW"... the car has to do the rest.

I predict we'll finally all be able to express our opinions without being accused of "premature criticism".:D Now it'll just be - "you don't agree with me, so you're wrong!" :yesnod:
