Sell your corvette now, you don`t deserve to sit behind the wheel any more.

acannell 01-13-2013 08:38 PM

this interior is more interesting and just screams POWER, you can practically smell the danger and unburnt hydrocarbons..the C7 looks like a vending machine that emits skim milk

........

First it is not 14HP higher. They clearly said 450hp was the target. They said 450 was an estimate. Secondly you compared it against the dual mode exhaust in the C6 versus the base exhaust on the C7 which only flows 13% more than the C6 exhaust. The dual mode exhaust on the C7 flows 26% more than the C6 exhaust and will be higher performing. I guess you didn't read the press release. So it is at least 20 more hp.

Wow guys, give the guy a break he is just expressing his opinion. Everyone is entitled to it. My .02 is that I still like my z06, I'll still need to see what GM will do with the z06 or zr1. I do not like the rear of the C7. I do like the interior.

RocketGuy3 01-13-2013 08:45 PM

The more I learn about the C7, the more I think the OP might be right unless GM is still being conservative with their numbers (which is very possible). I mean right now it sounds like this car is going to offer us something close to C6 Grand Sport performance for something close to C6 Grand Sport price.

... Really? We wait nearly a decade, and that's the best they could do? It seems like a completely lateral move.

But again, hopefully these numbers are still early and conservative.

I do very much like the estimated gas mileage, the interior design, and the exterior design, though. So that's several major points in favor of the C7.

This is a C7 ?

Not too crazy about this. But I wonder if it's a 'Flex-Fuel' vehicle ? :(

pickleseimer 01-13-2013 08:46 PM

I like it. I would like to see what the convertible's profile will be like.

To the OP, in my experience of creating things that are faster, better, cheaper - you never accomplish more than 2 out of three of those.

You are either a Vette guy or you are just visiting.....

Well said.

I also like some of the things it has..but like you said..lateral move. All the other sports car companies are going higher and higher, with more ridiculous power and speed, its a second muscle car era in case some people havent noticed, an international one too. The C7 just seems like its not going to be heard above the insane fray out there...unless the numbers are just way better than we expect....the C6 was a ROAR that started this muscle car era off in 2004...

I think spending $50,000 on a vette makes me a "vette guy" whether or not I like the C7.

i dont blame them for reacting..im reacting too...i think people who really LOVE the C7 are not the ones saying im a troll....i think they know there is a kernel of truth in what im saying

usroute66 MKW 01-13-2013 08:53 PM

GM has to clear the C 6 inventory . You would have a revolt from the Chevy dealers council if a base C7 outperfomed the C6 Z06 or GS at thousands less when the latter are sitting on their lots. Or GMwould have to put so much hood and trunk money to sell them that current loyal Z06 / GS owners would see an additinal overnight $ 15 K drop in their trade in values as a result.
Ask their current owners here what they think about that ?

Some people don't like baseball and apple pie either! And that's ok--- 2014 is sick!

shouldnt it be faster than the latest mustang like it was before?

The only thing you can do with a 662HP mustang is take it to a drag strip. The corvette is made for a road track - A 450 HP vette will make a GT 500 look stupid on a road course. Unless you get a thrill out of flooring it 10 seconds, or takingi it to a local street race - the corvette is a much better car.
