Tight 2 car garage...
I have a two car garage that houses a full size pickup and of course my C6.
Problem I have is that its a tight squeeze and while pulling the Vette in its hard to see if I am going to rub up against a tool box or storage rack that resides along the wall on the driver side of of the Vette, any suggestions on something I can use to either guide me in or a trick to keep me from hitting something while driving in. Its hard to see that side and would hate to hear a CRUNCH! |
Back in and use your mirrors.

That's why I always back in. That way you can use the side mirror to see down the side of the car. I get within an inch or two of objects along the wall and never worry about scratching it.

Could you reverse them, park the Vette on the other side?
Let the wife pull in left side in her car. I back the vette in on right side. Get rid of all the stuff on each side also.(toolbox etc....) Mount a boat dock bumper on wall to open door against and also shows you where to stop when backing in. |

Pull truck in forward on right side of garage, pull vette in backward on left side of garage. So both car driver doors are middle of garage. My garage is normal width but not deep at all. I keep two motorcycles a CTSV and ZR1 in there no problem. Attached is a pick with the bike my old Z06 and my buddies C6. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...sbd275ccc.jpeg |
Put a convex mirror in the garage. Look at the mirror as you are pulling in. It's the kind of mirror people put at the end of their driveways to see oncoming traffic.

Get some curb feelers?
|
Put on a pair of vertical (Lambo) doors then back in. Problem solved no charge, I'm here all week.

I have a garage that is not that big. I pull my Acura in on the left side and I back in the Vette on the right side. That way I can park them inches apart in the center and both driver's doors open towards each side wall. This leaves plenty of room for me to open the driver's doors all the way open.
Here is a photo but I park closer than this most of the time. http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/a...photos/002.jpg |
Cut pool noodles in half and put them on the walls (or tool box). My garage is tight as well so I cut a yoga mat in half and nailed them to each wall. No more banging my door on the hard wall when I get in and out

I have a wide 2 car garage and still find it easier to back the Vettes in for more room. I have to pull the blue one out to load a passenger and unload before backing in. I can squeeze in the red one without bumping the door into my workbench.

Wow...I love it!!! You must be an old...well, about my age. You probably remember the prism so you could see the traffic light beyond the sun visor...and necker knobs...
I actually had the same issue with a tight garage and two vehicles. Our main garage is only a little over 16' wall to wall and I had a 2006 Dodge quad cab dually and a Honda Accord. I had to fold the mirrors in and then pull the truck as close to the left wall as possible and climb over the console and get out of the passenger side door. The Honda would be as close to the right wall as possible. The bad part was that the passenger had to get out first. This was not much fun when it was raining or snowing. When we got the Vette we had the three cars and only a two car gargage issue, so we built another garage in the back. Now we just park the DD Accord in the main garage and put the truck and Vette out back. |
