Ever slept in your C6?

I know, this is :willy: :ack:  :crazy2:. I also know that this is why you have your (insert vehicle suited for sleeping here). I also know that is why there are hotels/motels.

This was/is strictly for fun and each of these was on a multi-day trip and only one night was spent sleeping in the Vette. The first, in my VY 2007, was about 10 miles north of Ensenada, Mexico, along the Baja, Mexico, Pacific Ocean coastline. At the campground it cost $6.00 to park there overnight. The second was last May in my TR 2011 and is at a National Forest campground (cost $0) about 10 miles east of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Location, location, location. I sleep stretched out on my back with my torso in the cargo area on a pad and my legs going out over the console. Can even see the stars up through the hatch glass

Looks like the poor pup got the gravel side of the car and not the (somewhat) grass side. And to answer your question; not yet.

HarleyB 01-31-2013 03:01 PM

Only when wifel unit is P.O.'d.

Not IN my Callaway Centennial GS Vert but beside it in garage no less than a dozen times. Wife has suggested I just move a cot out here. BUT.... If I was going to, where you did sounds pretty cool. Especially on ocean. That would be a memory only Alzheimer's could rob me of.

Yep. That is a stock Vette loaded up for a 10 day, 4,000 mile trip. This was the first night on the road.

Don't worry, he slept over on the other side of the car attached to a 20 foot lead attached to a tree such that it wouldn't let him out in the road.   He LOVED the temp compared to Phoenix (He is a VERY furry Chow). I kept telling myself I wasn't cold

I believe that one buddy, Ive been there.. And a very nice garage to nap in. Only problem is all the projects surrounding you in there, I couldnt have my scatter brain that close to them.. Miller Lite helps tho!!

FRChilln 01-31-2013 04:59 PM

I crashed in mine for a few hours in Vegas waiting to check into my hotel room. Not too bad...

Mad*Max 01-31-2013 05:33 PM

not overnight

wolfdogs 01-31-2013 05:56 PM

napped at a rest area in NC on the way back from my one and only road trip to see my Dad before he left us.... 2 hours.. not bad....

rakuhn 01-31-2013 06:06 PM

You are pulling my chain right?

easyrider13 01-31-2013 06:24 PM

If I drive between NJ and Florida without a full overnight stop, I usually pull into a motel parking lot and take a one to two hour snooze.

dvilin 01-31-2013 06:26 PM

Nope.

VET4LES 01-31-2013 07:12 PM

One time. The lane markers woke me up.

Thanks, just having a little adventure! The trip back back across the border in Tijuana was no picnic. 3 hour stop and go while traffic with all the street vendors and beggars plying their trade. Also, this was in 2008 before all the cartel stuff became big news. But at least you already know how absolutely beautiful and pristine that coast is once you get south of Tijuana

Biggie G 01-31-2013 08:32 PM

I accidentally knocked out for like 2 hours once, oh Lord was my neck in pain for 2 days!!!!!!

fuk that! never again!

su8pack1 01-31-2013 09:52 PM

:yesnod: And a few other things. :D

B-Vette 01-31-2013 10:15 PM

No, sleeping in the vehicle after drinking all night is frowned upon here. :D

The reason you have never slept in yours is because you drink all night, every night?

Wayne O 01-31-2013 10:19 PM

"Ever slept in your C6?"

Just once briefly....then I decided I should stop driving and get a room for the night. ;) Joking aside, I've slept in worse places. If circumstances called for it I could sleep in the Corvette.

HOXXOH 01-31-2013 10:23 PM

Here I thought this thread was about something else, like with someone. And yes, that's possible too. :D

cmonkey713 01-31-2013 10:23 PM

Depends on what your deffinition of "sleep" is?

Andrew6@TheDoubleAA 01-31-2013 11:13 PM

Drove to see DSV after work one night after work and drove home was about 12 hours of driving dinner and bs and buddy did some driving for me while I slept in my new DSVettes cover leather, Alcantra seats :)

Luffsvette 02-01-2013 04:24 AM

I had a 1977 Olds Toronado once. That was a sofa on wheels. The Vette? Couldn't sleep in it if i tried. I need a shoe horn to get in and out of it.

Seadawg 02-01-2013 06:09 AM

Yea, I snoozed back there for a few hours while attending the Rolex 24 last year (had to miss this year's race, darn it). Stretched out in the back area the way you described.

I was so tired, I could have slept standing up.

There's so many homeless people near the Daytona Beach area, I would not think of doing it there.

snakeman56 02-01-2013 06:47 AM

When I took my Road Trip last year I slept in my GS at a rest stop for about 2 hours. I slept in the drivers seat, It was ok for the short time. I had gotten very tired and decided to rest a bit!!!

Hey Joe 02-01-2013 10:16 AM

I want to die like my Grandfather in his sleep. Not screaming like the other people in the car with him...

ravill 02-01-2013 12:27 PM

I slept curled up in the back of my vette once. I loved it!!

Stretched out as I described or in the seat?

gwalsh88 02-06-2013 04:51 PM

I take frequent road trips between Florida and New Hampshire and drive straight through every time. I usually pull into a rest stop around 4:00 AM and crash for 2 or 3 hours. I stay in the drivers seat with my head rest on a towel against the window. Sometimes I have a slight stiff neck for a couple hours but I can't justify a hotel room for just a few hours. :D

Only on the interstate. That's what cruise control is for.

ruxvette 02-06-2013 10:48 PM

Hell, yeah. Me and the kid (my Sheltie) make the trek from WA to AZ and usually drive it and sleep in the car. He has night farts, tho, and wakes me up...at least I think it's him...ok, I blame him.

Stalking behavior is not only against Forum rules it is against the law. Do not do it again. Fair and final warning.

spicytuna 05-19-2013 11:53 AM

I've slept in my Z06 numerous times during road trips.

It's not the most comfortable car I've slept in due to the limited rearward tilt of the drivers seat but it's do-able.

And what did you do when you left this in my thread?

Black went better than the top. Bling around the plate looks absurd. Adding Corvette logos to tail light lenses is beyond words bad. TOTAL FAIL IN EVERY REGARD DEMONSTRATES COMPLETE LACK OF TASTE

Don't you dare threaten me.
