Just realized I'm on my 8th set of wheels....

Starting with the stock wagon wheels in 1997 here is what I've had over the years:

1..Stock painted wagons

2...special high reflective painted stock wagons (supplied by paint vendor)

3...stock polished thin spokes (supplied by Reynolds wheel salesman)

4...stock 10 spoke Z06 painted wheels (supplied by Reynolds wheel salesman)

5...stock C6 chrome plated standard 5 spoke wheels (bought from forum member)

6...Iforged polished rim/brushed centers Evos (forum GP purchased new)

7...Aftermarket black spyders (forum vendor)

8...Forgestar CF5s (to be installed this spring)

I may have missed some in there somewhere....what a ride!:D

Baldfart 02-21-2013 03:27 PM

Hope you get a set you like soon!:D

Driver220 02-21-2013 04:16 PM

Would be neat to see all the pictures together!

02blackLS6 02-21-2013 04:22 PM

You need to mount tires on those Forgestar CF5's and take pictures immediately! :D
I've been waiting a long while to see them on a C5!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing...then I realized digital cameras didn't exist yet when I got the vette! I think the internet was just starting too...:D

Eh, that might be a small stretch there!

Impressive though, at what I paid for tire mounting / balancing last time, you've got a grand just in mounting tires! Lol

Not sure what that is in your avatar, but it's pretty badazz look'n.

TorchRedRocket 02-21-2013 06:57 PM

And how much money have you lost on all of your wheels?

02z06dave 02-21-2013 07:26 PM

I just got my 4th set in 2 and a half years...
I know how it is.

I love wheels!

I've gone through my share as well and still not done.

I'm addicted too.

I have had 6 sets of C5 wheels and 9 sets of C4 wheels. Not counting what is on the cars and the 3 sets I sold last fall, I still have 5 sets not on cars.

I also have spare sets for my Impala, truck, and Charger.

I like swapping them and changing the looks. See the thread below for some pictures.

I've swapped exhausts that many time but not wheels. That's a lot of wheels!

TorchRedRocket 02-21-2013 08:59 PM

Now that I think about it, that's actually really impressive that you remember every set of wheels!

Yea, I do have a ton of floppy discs from the mid 90s...some day when I have nothing better to do I'll go through them. Here's the avatar...it's some sort of badass Ferrari....note the fantastic front end...the rear looks a lot like a C3 vette.

I think about swapping exhausts often. Just got my second set of wheels and I have a feeling it won't be my last but I am pretty happy with them except for being much harder to clean than my C6 5 spoke.

91LSMAN 02-21-2013 09:11 PM

Well, at 3 sets I don't feel as crazy. :D

It wasn't easy! These were my favorites, but the upkeep and the bent lips, wobbling in the rain, corrosion, and TPS issues forced me out of them. I concluded these 3-piece wheels don't belong in the snowbelt.

Funny you should say that...that is the main reason I've gone back to the basic 5 spoke. I used to spend close to an hour on wheels...no more!

Do you DD your car year round in the snow and salt? I can't even begin to imagine how much of a nightmare the faux rivets are to keep clean on aftermarket wheels!
