I bought an auto due to foot issues that could leave a stick parked in the garage indefinitely. Now that I have the auto and should I decide to add another I'd get the stick since I'd then have both.

:iagree:Sometimes we forget that not all people can drive a manual car.

You might be surprised to hear you can actually run an auto in the gear you select and keep it there until you decide to shift.
Aint technology cool?

Used market - auto sells easier. When I sold my 01 and 09 Vettes lost a lot of potential customers when they called up and found out the cars were 6 speeds.

Well honestly....if I'm buying or prepping a car for drag racing purposes only the last car it would be is a brand new Corvette.

Really don't want to get into those questions just yet. I'm still trying to decide between the coupe and GS. You have the faster tire wear, all the brake dust, the same weight and no additional hp, and of course the higher coefficient of drag, but then the GS just looks meaner...!! What do you think...??:ack:

This debate will never be settled, it's like asking which women are better looking, blondes or brunettes! :)

The best way to settle this is to take an auto and a manual out for a test drive and see which one you prefer.

For almost 9 years I owned an automatic C5 and when I originally bought it I preferred automatic because it was more consistent for drag racing and also because the car was my daily driver and I worked in downtown Toronto so I was constantly stuck in the most brutal rush hour traffic you can imagine. But the last few years I wasn't using the car as my daily driver and I've also changed jobs and no longer commute into Toronto, my route to work rarely ever puts me into heavy traffic now. So I really missed owning a manual transmission, and that's one of the factors that pushed me into a C6 sooner than I had originally planned. I'm having so much more fun now!

I'll be honest, two things pushed me to a regular coupe. Initial price and tire wear. If money were no object I would love a GS or even a Z06, but it is, and for me its just an expensive toy. Thats not to say I don't love my coupe, because I do. JMO

Same here. Have a coupe too. Ordered last summer for much the same reasons as you.

Those cars and the lowly Corvette aren't in the same stratoshpere! The two highest performance Corvettes are not paddle shifted.
