4L60E Trans Brake Installed
..... Trans is almost finished ... the hard part is done , incorporating the Rossler trans brake , shift kit , and typical high perf improvements into the core trans without interfering with each other ... the most tedious part was doing all the valve body mods ... I can't wait to get this to the track ... :D ..... the next trick is to find a pan deep enough to accomodate the brake without being a skid plate ................

Cool, now next time you bring it out, bring a basket for broken drivetrain parts. :willy:

..... Someday we'll compare baskets ... .....

I was thinking the same thing. Do you plan to convert to a solid axle? If not, are you doing anything to make the IRS stronger? BTW it does look nice!! |

... If you don't break a few parts along the way , you're not testing them to their limit .........

... It always seems to rain here on track days ... I've only had the car out twice this summer ... but it has reacted positively to the 4000 stall converter ... my 60 foot times dropped from low 1.7's to a best ever 1.48 ... hovering in the 1.52 range ... depends a lot on track prep ... I tried the transbrake and am impressed with the launch ... the only negative is the on time wait ... it takes a couple of seconds to actually lock after hitting the button ... this was disclosed by Rossler in the instructions and on their website ... I'm going to tie the T-brake to the line lock and see if that helps ... It just messes with focus on the starting line to see the lights start to come down while you're still in the three count waiting for the trans to lock up .......... stay tuned ...

I have a buddy that races a Callaway with a 4l80e and transbrake. His problem is the delay in getting the transbrake to release. Major slow reaction times. Does yours release immediately when you release the button?

... I only made two attempts and both times I was at two on the three count when the Pro tree lit up so I can't tell based on reaction times ... but it seemed to release immediately ... on the second try I did manage to go red ... it might have just rolled the beam before it had time to lock ... I did NOT have the two step wired in either ... just couldn't wait to try it ...........

So after the stage lights go on, you hit the transbrake button but you can't hit the gas until the transbrake engages. How do you know when that happends?
..... Is your live axle set-up full custom ? four link ? I see that you use a torque arm , is that the locator ? ..... |

..... There is no way to know exactly when it locks ... in the pits it was locked after a quick three count ... I know now that its best used on a full tree and not on a Pro tree unless you can get in there really fast .....

3 seconds is a long time. Even with a full tree, the lights might start going down in that time, and you still have to put the right foot down. Maybe you can hook the transbrake solenoid up to a buzzer in the cockpit so you will know when the transbrake is engaged without having to look at another light on the dashboard. I just installed my Rossler 4l60e last week and am getting the shift points at wot dialed in. It was quite a bit different from my other 4l60e. So far so good. I elected not to go with the transbrake because I have my dual Strange calipers on each rear wheel to keep the car from creeping forward at the line. My 12 bolt is a custom fabrication. I use a panhard bar to locate the rear.

The transbrake solenoid is activated as soon as the button is pushed ... the delay is hydraulic within the trans and has to do with waiting for the pressure to rise from idle to max and reverse piston motion toward lock-up ..... |

... Your set-up obviously works ... I bet those brakes generate some negative G's ................
