Kand N or paper filter!
Ok, today I want to settle the mystery!
Cut louvers and go with a Baldwin air filter, porous paper or buy a K and N for my 1990. I have read a few arguments on both sides, seen the you tube videos with bouncing balls and wondered what will give me a free boost of a realistic tiny bit of power? MZee:willy: |
Cut the lid and use a paper filter, no need to worry about oiling a filter or any issues that could come with over oiling, and depending on how much you drive you car a k&n may never pay for itself
|
No performance gain with K&N, so it's really just personal preference -- it takes several years to justify the cost difference vs paper. I plan to keep my car forever so the math worked out :)
I have them on all my vehicles and have never had any issues with MAF contamination from the oil either. Just have to make sure you don't over-oil them. |
I have K&N and have never had a problem with it, seems to have made a improvment in sound to me, but then again I have a custom cover and maybe that helps.

Not sure how they became so famous! almost everyone says cut louvers and use paper. MZee |
