Good read. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed that article. The C5 can still hold its own on the track.
|
Good article but thats the 3rd time this week I have heard sagging doors mentioned. What is that about?
|
The C5 is a race car, even if it's old it still is a race car. And to be quite frank....seriously so, the newer versions are only "MARGINALLY" better. Yes it might make a difference when you want a podium finish, but the shear driving expereince is still had. I laugh at the new Corvette guys strutting around like peacocks bragging how the new one makes the older ones obsolete, until they meet other generations on the track.
I can't wait to buy a good used C7 in a few years, and when I do.... no snobbery here. Heck I still love my C4 and enjoy them very much too. If I hadn't bought my C5, no telling how much my C4 would be putting out hp wise and handling.

That's a great article, makes me want to get rid of my MY04 (9.5 out of 10) for something I can change around and beat up a little, and not feel bad about :willy:

Heck yeah.

 thanks for the read!

Interesting article, thanks for posting.

Interesting article, minus the sagging doors. I had never heard of sagging doors or cracked steering wheel leather?
|
Now that is a corvette being used properly :D

Enjoyed the article. Agree to that a C5 Z06 would be a better track car. Ask me how I know! :)
Seriously, you can buy a great used C5 or C5 Z06, slap a supercharger on it, and have less money total in it than a C6 (I do not like the C6 style, except the wide body [aka Z06, ZR1, or Gran Sport). If it is a souped up suspension C5 or C5 Z06, the C6 won't touch it, unless it is a C6 ZR1. |
Great article! thanks for sharing. But... "It would be going too far to compare it to a Miata",...I think I threw up a little in my mouth there.
|
 Thanks...enjoyed the article! :yesnod:

wonder if late 90s / early 2000s cars are making a come back. they are the last of the "simple cars" and are both easy to work on, repair and drive
top gear just did a similar article on the integra type r from the same c5 time period. similar theme to the article as well |
