When will the C7 be sold at 10k under MSRP?

Do you guys think that the end of the third year will net us 10k under MSRP? I am wondering how long I will have my 2013. I won't buy a new car at anything close to MSRP but will probably feel the temptation when the C7 hits the streets. 10k under MSRP is my breaking point in most cases. I include my 1000 GMCard rebate in that so I need 9K under MSRP in other forms of discounts and rebates on a 1LT.

very good chance they will be somewhere around $7,500 off MSRP in three years for the base model. A lot depends on when they release the hi-po version.

Personally, I think you would lucky to get a $2-3K discount by the third year. 10K? Could be right before the C8 comes out.

It's a different world today, if the dealers get crazy and order big allocations once they are up and running the pants will start to fall next year and they'll be off by 2015 IMO.

User 2623 06-21-2013 10:42 PM

I don't think your gonna see the deep discounts on the C7 vettes like we saw with the C6. Basically I believe GM will keep production low as well as allocation and distribution highly channeled to keep demand and price high.

A couple weeks after it comes out. $80 G+ for a fully equipped vert is nuts.

LIE2ME 06-21-2013 10:50 PM

I am hoping for an end of the year 2015 Stingray for $10,000.00 off sticker and 0% financing. Of course I expect this would include my Corvette loyalty bonus & my GM card max rebate...

That is when I'll JUMP!!!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

Don't forget about the annual increase in MSRP. In three years the C7 will probably have a MSRP around 4k more than this summer. When the C6 was released it started at roughly 44K my near loaded 2005 1SB (3LT equiv.) had a sticker of roughly 52K, now the 1LT is that price. If I remember right I paid $1500 under MSRP and received my car in early December 2004, only a few months after release. I wouldn't wait for 10K off if you really like the C7 as long as the deal is fair and under MSRP.

I think G.M. plans on building a lot of C7"s but I don't feel that deep discounts are going to happen until end of the model run. This car is well liked by most of the world for its design and interior, the lap times at VIR are great, 0 to 60 is super and it stops well. The ney sayers are still saying that it is a bust, guess they are just upset because they didn't order one. The auto industry is way different today than during the C5 and C6 ( early ) runs, better products everywhere and this will hold prices up, and if ( when ) the C7 holds up the good numbers and has new buyers who are happy then 2500.00 to 3000.00 dollars in discount will be good from most dealers. This is a quality car, maybe even world class and I believe that it will hold its own through it's production run. Just my thoughts.
SAVE THE WAVE!

Damn! You beat me to it.

They are already asking 5 to 8 grand over MSRP in some markets -- and getting it. So, I would say for 10 grand-- 2 or 3 years for a closeout of a model year.

When the 2015s are out or a little sooner IMO

10K off before the C8 ? NOT If the C8 is a 6cyl.(it's just a matter of time with controls on MPG) then C7 will be in demand, so not much off.

Sorry to say, my crystal ball says you won't see $9k off a no-options base C7 anytime soon. Maybe never. :(

OTOH, right now you might find $9k off a 2013 C6.

GM doesn't give a crap how much the dealers make on the C7. They make money by cranking cars out, and even if they have to offer a $3000 rebate they can make way more money selling 50% more vettes. There is a tremendous fixed overhead to run any UAW or CAW automotive plant and that must be covered by higher production levels.

At 1,000 cars a month they can't make money on the vette :yesnod:

Whatever fantasy world you are living in, I'm sure it's an exciting place... You go ahead and believe in UFO's and Bigfoot along with your 10K off in the second model year of a completely new generation corvette, when it doesn't happen, perhaps you could look into a used moo-stang, the dreamers on this board make me laugh...

But, but, I got 10k off my C6 near the end of the model run, but but I got 8k off because the demand wasn't as high for the C6 as the C5....

why, why, why, I want my discounts... :cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry

Yes, when the C8 comes out and they are looking to dump C7's 6 or 7 years from now, you can get your 10k off then, in the meantime, enjoy what you have, we will be enjoying our Stingray's now...:cool:

It's not FAIR, what about the RECESSION, :cry:cry:cry:

I want my discounts....
