the dic (2004/29k miles) does not display anything, dealer wants roughly $800 to diag. and fix it, shut the car off started it , it showed for a brief seconnnnnnd, now really "nothing". any other of these such issues out there..?....

The easiest check is your battery voltage. I'm having the same issue with my '99. In my readings from the forum, the electronics on these cars don't work properly with less than 12.5 volts. And you cannot go by the volt guage on the instrument cluster. I think that is reading alternator charging volts. I'm sure that someone with more knowledge will have ideas to check this problem further.

Will give that a check, seems like the alternator voltage should light the dic.. Fuel/trip A/ Etc. ... No other responses yet..Thanks !

I thought this was some kind of joke and was gonna recommend a pill...sorry, seriously hope ya get it fixed.
