lemon pledge

anybody else on this forum use lemon pledge? started using it in 1964 on my white stingray convertible. have tried every wax, cleaner, and detailer and still find pledge great. just wondering what your feelings are. just put on my 2012 grand sport, racing stripes 3M carbon fibre. outrageous look. pledge works great on this also. any other product ideas would be appreciated.

How long does it last? Is this the only wax you use?

TerryL 06-26-2013 11:07 PM

Pledge is much cheaper but I prefer Plexus for a quick shine. Pledge seems to have more oil in it and is harder to buff clean than Plexus.

the car has never seen rain or snow. i am told it doesn't last long. there is no wax build up and car has excellent shine. my 75 has won numerous trophies and i only used pledge on it. went to a show years ago, guy had a can wrapped in duct tape, asked him what he was using. he said special formula. black 82 nice condition, wife looked over and whispered it's pledge. not pushing any product but i keep on using it and it makes my vettes look great.

I didn't know about using pledge as a quick detailer until I read a post by another member last week. I tried it and it worked well for me and was just as good to me maybe even better shine than the other more expensive spray on quick detailers I've used in the past.

It's been a Harley Davidson owner's detail polish & bug remover for quite a long time, however they changed the formula recently. I still have a couple of cans of the old formula. The old formula will not damage the factory custom paint, and is the best product to easily remove bugs.

Great story!

hmmm i've heard of people using it as a tire shine as well...

TerryL 06-26-2013 11:26 PM

A warm wet towel removes bugs better than anything after a short soak. The fairings on my motorcycles get plastered by bugs on tour and a hot wet towel soaking over them for a few minutes removes them like magic. Adding a few sprays of Plexus or Pledge makes them shine like new.

Al Knoch interiors ..told me to use it on my leather seats...

Pledge works , Ive used it for years and helicopter and boat windows /plexiglass . Cold damp nights /mornings it's a bit foggy on windows .

Been using it for a LONGGGG time and love it. Lightly spray a panel and wipe down with a microfiber cloth.

Best of all you can buy a 3 pack of aerosol cans at Costco:)

I've used it for many years on motorcycles and bicycles with great results. I tried it a few days ago on my black vette and it looks the best it has since I've owned it. I wouldn't replace normal waxing with it, but it gave a far better shine than the McGuire's high gloss detail spray that I normally use.

Are you referring to my message to Snowwolf or the use of pledge? Not sure i understand.

ProfessorDeath 06-27-2013 03:35 AM

Knew a guy with a '63 SWC who swore by Pledge. Good enough for me. Haven't ever tried it, but may give it a shot some day.

Banana Republic 06-27-2013 03:42 AM

..and it smells good too..?:D..might have to try it now.
