Climate control shutting down.

Hay guys
Haven’t posted here in awhile but I need your help again with my AC.
I have a 97 with Climate control and out of the blue it has started shutting down, and on its own, comes back on in 2 to 10 minutes. It doesn’t seem to matter if I am driving or it’s sitting in the driveway idling.
Is there a circuit breaker somewhere that may be going bad?
It’s 90+ degrees here in PA and I need that darn AC to work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Freon is good with plenty of cold air. That was the first thing I checked and pressure on low side is good.
Thanks for the reply

Is your OAT gage reading correctly? If the sensor is bad/disconnected and the system thinks the OAT is cold, it won't let the A/C stay on.

Thank you for your reply.
My entire climate control system shuts down and the screen goes blank as if there is no power going to it.
It is not JUST an AC problem, even the defrost will not come on.
BTW, what is an OAT gauge?

I think he is talking about the Outside Air Temp. sensor. If it is outside the temp. range, it will cause the compressor to shut off, but don't think it would power down the AC control head.

You may just need to have the control head checked. There are places on Ebay that will sell you a reconditioned control head, including making sure all the lights work...
By the way, it is a common problem for the display resistors to come loose from the circuit board and cause the display to go dim, or off... That could be the problem if just the display is dim, and the controls still work...

No, the controls wont work either. Then after a few minutes it will all come back on for a wile and then off again.

I have been having the same issue with my controls for the last couple of summers. Some times it works and then some times it does not.

Well now I'm thinking a bad ground somewhere, but where to start??
If it ever cools off a little here in PA I'll take a look and see if I find anything.

Can anyone tell me where the ground wire may be for the Climate Control unit?

Can anyone help me out? I know someone out there can get me started on the right track and I will be most grateful.
