Arctic White C7 Road Trip: Pics!

This is why you should buy arctic white:

Road trip happened about a week ago. Went from Michigan to Tampa, Florida.

Note of clarification: I did not shoot these. They were originally shared on Instagram by the performance interior design manager @GM.

Had to reshare here!

Damn that looks sexy!

What I love most about white = it shows every angle on the car. And its a beautiful shape to look at!

I like so many of the colors.. but white is one of the top.

Snorman 07-16-2013 11:20 AM

The more I see the body-colored roof the more I prefer it. It seems like lots of the cars we have been seeing have the visible CF or transparent.

:iagree:
This base Stingray with matching roof, smooth body with no spoiler tacked on, and simple wheels lets us see how clean and aerodynamic looking the basic Stingray design is. Very classy. Adding on more "stuff" just complicates it and looks busy.

Promind 07-16-2013 12:19 PM

These might be the first pics from the drivers themselves, and not at a show.

These pictures are from the performance car interior design manager Ryan Vaughan and his wife Sabrina.

BTW, he has "Dragoned" the C7.

I like the look better than with the Z51 spoiler. Is the Z51 spoiler dealer installed? I would leave it off.

Hemi Dave 07-16-2013 04:59 PM

White looks fantastic........one of the top colors to my eye for the C7.......but I am getting torch :)

Stingray Sam 07-16-2013 05:11 PM

Look at the back of the car in the picture where it is parked in front of Bubba Jax Crab Shack. :) I have to agree...

edved 07-16-2013 05:13 PM

It looks stunning. The look of the car is really starting to grow on me. White is my top 3 choice.

Thanks for the pics. Please don't hesitate to post more.

Care to remark how it drives?

Uh oh, I am starting to see it now. Beautiful!

jmagilto 07-16-2013 06:10 PM

How is the rearward visibility compared to the C6.
I have a concern that visibility could be impaired in the new design - ala - the Camaro.

Inquiring minds.... :)

GatMixZ06 07-16-2013 06:11 PM

Great pics.

I ordered white and I can't wait to get it!

Are those the chrome or silver painted wheels?

Bingo.....Looks like there is another person thinking the same as I have been with the color roof appearing...Makes a bolder statement

Philr56 07-16-2013 06:38 PM

what a gorgeous car! Does it have 3LT interior with Brownstone leather? That is the sweetest combination!

BPhillyc8 07-16-2013 06:40 PM

Great Photography. Nicely framed and composed. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like the light sensor. I never had to turn on or off head- or dash lights in my C6 because the sensor performed:flag: it automatically.

that like a light sensor or alarm. like on o2 Camaro when you set the alarm it flash to let you know alarm is active.

Drove along "The Tail of the Dragon" in the Blue Ridge mountains between North Carolina and Tennessee. Look it up. Many videos on YouTube.

Most likely it is a sunlight sensor. It can actuate a vehicle’s daytime running lamps, signal the instrument panel to illuminate or even regulate climate control, depending on the vehicle.

I agree. Every time I've seen the car with the CF/transparent roof, it just looked odd to me, the transparent roof never bothered me on the C6.

:iagree: And a ball of fun! My RX-8 and Cooper S have been "Dragon Tested" several times. The Cherohola[?] Skyway is a really nice drive as well.

Are two tops an option?

VETTEMANN 07-17-2013 12:10 AM

White always great, and especially great on the C7...

But way too many contrasting vents designed to appeal to the 'kids' just discovering the Corvette and liking its Ferronda styling. Looks like sparks should come out of the back when you push it on the ground.

Leaving the hood vents body colored would have been more overall sophisticated styling IMO... :leaving:

Yes.

C2Q = CFA + CC3
C2M = C2Z + CC3

CC3 = Roof panel, 1-piece transparent, removable
CFA = Roof panel, carbon fiber, painted body-color, removable
C2Z = Roof panel, visible carbon fiber with body-color surround, removable

Great shots, really helps people better "connect" to the C7 seeing it from the driver seat........I can imagine being behind the wheel lol :)

If by OP you are referring to me, I apologize for the confusion. I did not take these pics. As it has been mentioned, these are from the Vaughans. I met them at the bash this year (as I imagine several of you did), and had a great discussion with Ryan regarding the interior. Naturally I followed them on Instagram, but was surprised to see that no one here or on corvette blogger picked up these awesome photos to share! They are some of the best shots taken in my opinion, and Instagram is a great strategy to reach an additional demographic.

x10. Exactly what I was thinking seeing that view from the drivers seat and I must say I like. Thanks OP for the pics. Its great to see some 'personal' shots of the car inside and out.

\hat car looks incredibly "busy" it needs a lot of that crap taken off, or removed.

(hood extractor etc)

1analguy 07-17-2013 02:53 PM

That really is a nice, bright white...and it seems to somewhat disguise the over-abundance of creases. It's odd how both white and black can accomplish that...though black will disguise all the black trim as well...JMO

:iagree: But be careful...they'll jump on your neck. Knowing this, I'd go one step farther anyway and say that all the vents, the "A" pillars, and the top half of the rear diffuser should be painted body color as well. I've seen it photo-shopped, and the car definitely looks much more finished...JMO :hide:

Canute 07-17-2013 05:22 PM

I love the dash, especially at night. The back end looks a little funky, but I still like that too.
Basically I think the car is beautiful.

toxin440 07-17-2013 06:53 PM

i will be really glad when the whole instagram fad dies -- if I wanted to look at high quality pictures though a 70's lens, I'd buy an old POS camera.

Nice car thoughh.

that is sweeeeeeet.
can someone photoshop the vents by the taillights and the black on on the rear facisa white, leave the bottom diffuser area black.

SgtRod 07-18-2013 12:40 AM

I was in Naples, Fla today and saw these guys. There was a red stingray with two chevy trucks in a convoy driving around. The plates said Michigan "manufacturer".

The car does look nicer in person.

Agreed! I don't like the carbon roof because unless you get the car in cyber grey, you will have that body colored bar across the roof sticking out like a sore thumb. Looks much cleaner with the body color roof..flows better.

I only had a few minutes so i couldn't change the color of the vents to white but I took them away and replaced them with white.

I think it gives you an idea of how it would look.

I also removed the Corvette lettering.

If i have time later tonight I can work on it more.

a lot of people seem to hate the rear light vents...not sure why. If anything the bottom part of the bumper is what needs help IMO. The vents are both sporty and functional

OnPoint 07-18-2013 09:34 PM

Another vote for body color roof on the 7.

Nice car thoughh.

Not going to happen in the near future... They've tripled their install base after being purchased for $1B!

It is pretty neat to follow the adventures of GM insiders... What could be better?
