How Well Do You Know Your Vette - The 2013 Edition

OK, I tried this for a bit in 2010, and we all seemed to have a bit of fun with it, so I thought we'd give it another go.

Here's the game: How Well Do You Know Your Vette?

How To Play: I post a closeup (or not) photo of a part of a Vette (mine is a TR GS...so that's what I've got to work with). You post a guess of what you think the photo is. First one right wins. I'll then post the entire photo so that all can see the actual part of the car. If you get the first right post, you can either post and moderate the next round, or pass and we'll let somebody else post a set. If you post an initial close up, please be ready to return to the forum within 24 hours to post the correct answer so that we're not all hanging on for days!

Rules: No peeking at your own car! We're using the honor system here and I'm hoping we can all play fair. You have to recognize the part and post your guess. If you don't know...go ahead and post that....if you have a pithy comment, go for it. Either way, we'll make up the rules as we go, but no cheating and checking your guess on your car first.

I've got a couple of photos queued up for this, and I'll try and post the correct answer within 24 hours of the original posting if there are no correct guesses (yes...I have a life, so I'm only on the forum 5 or 6 times a day!).

For those that missed the 2010 game, this should give you an idea of how it's played: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...our-vette.html

And here we go, hands on your buzzers:

What is this and where is it on a Vette?

Since last time I was flamed a bit for the "too easy" ones, I thought I'm come out of the gate with something a bit harder. Perhaps too hard? Clue #1: This is not on my car.

Time for another clue (this is an obscure one!): Hammond likes it, Clarkson doesn't.

Freak3150 07-18-2013 08:11 PM

Leaf spring? Thats the only thing I can think of that Clarkson made fun of but Hamster defended.

:lurk:

DigitalWidgets 07-18-2013 08:22 PM

Just because I've started with a hard one, I'll keep refining the clues (would hate to have this silly game stall in Round 1).

Hammond quote: "I quite like that!"

DigitalWidgets,

I have no idea.........but these threads are too fun! :D

Freak3150 07-18-2013 08:30 PM

Or actually I think he was talking about the actual supercharger through hood window.

EDIT: YouTube clip of Hammond and Clarkson used for clue (clue is at about 5:00):

Freak3150 takes round 1! Now by the official rules, you're up Freak. If you want to post one go ahead. If not, you're more than welcome to pass.

I'll try and post another tomorrow....or anybody else is more than welcome to jump in if they can come up with something!

I'm not at home right now, so I'll pass to whoever wants to go.

I love these trivia games. I usually suck at em though.

To the OP - next time don't attach a photo of the answer in your original question:eek: Click on your first photo clue and see what you get.

Hey dpigguy, that's not my doing. I'm pretty sure that's something in the vBulletin software the forum uses (appears to be part of a funky CSS/Javascript thing to keep giant pictures from stretching out the forum thread display). That "feature" will allow you do to a slide show type of thing for all the images in the posts on the page. You only got to see the answer photo as part of that slide show once it's posted later in the thread. At least that's the way it works in other threads (Like This).

Either way, we're on the honor system here, so no cheating (or hacking somebody's photo account)!

Freak has yielded control of the board. I'll leave it open to anybody else that wants to post something up and start another round. If I see nothing, I'll post another one tomorrow morning.

You should go for it again tomorrow !!

It did kinda suck when your opening statement says " post a closeup (or not) photo of a part of a Vette (mine is a TR GS...so that's what I've got to work with).

and than you use a photo off a ZR1 . . . . .

Freak3150 07-18-2013 10:28 PM

He did state in his first clue it wasn't his car.
