Exhaust tip polish fail
 

I bought some Mothers mag and aluminum polish in hopes of shining up my stainless tips and it was a total waste of money. I'm not saying its a bad product but it did nothing for me. My tips are very clean but also very dull. Does anyone have any experience with Never Dull? Its the insulation looking material in the silver can.

never dull works well but as with the mothers you gotta put some effort in it. elbow grease and hard work are the secret ingredient.

did you try wiping the stainless with Windex after you used the mothers?

I really like Chemical guys to get the metal clean, and Adam's to give the amazing pop!

I would not use never dull.. too abrasive. tips are stainless... one of the best products for polishing stainless is a product called Barkeeper's' friend or jet BonAmi both can be found at any big chain grocery store where they sell cleansers.

To establish a high sheen finish on bright metal, stainless, aluminum, etc., nothing....and I mean nothing outperforms Semichrome Polish!!! You can even use it in conjunction with 1000 and 1500 grit sand paper to create your own polished aluminum finish as I did with the stock wheels on my '84 'Vette.

Yeah I did use some glass cleaner. I didn't spend as much time as I prolly should have with the polish tho. I may give it another try.

I've used 3M Polishing paper for years for polishing aluminum and stainless steel. You can get it in grits up to 8000. It's mainly used for polishing jewelry, but it works great. I hardly ever touch any polish at all. 3M paper, and WD40...

I agree to both. I use Barkeepers Friend to clean and Semichrome to give an outstanding shine. When Semichrome is not readily available I use Flitz polish, comes in a tube like Semichrome. For you reloaders, use a dab of either in your brass vibrator media and cases come out looking like new.:cheers:

I too use Mothers Never Dull and it works pretty well. But I never really let mine get real dirty either.

I strictly use Blue Magic on stainless that is already immaculate because it not only cleans and polishes but protects.

If there is any discoloration or damage I patiently use Barkeeper's Friend. Period. Barkeeper's Friend is simply an amazing product. They now have a new Barkeeper's Friend Soft Cleanser product that seems even more amazing. It is a liquid paste in a squirt bottle. I just cleaned my stainless steel BBQ with it yesterday. Looks like new.

were you polishing by hand or a drill with a mothers ball type thing on the end of it? i've noticed by hand just doesn't get enough cutting power like a drill/powerball does. Especially if the tips are in need of a good cleaning

I also have and use semichrome, but because I keep my tips up always, I don't need to use it. You can get it off eBay, or at any motorcycle shop

I use Flitz on a mothers ball to polish the sidepipes on my 72 C3. Works very well.
