2013 Grand Sport 2LT...good price?

I'm new to this forum, and have been given the green light by my wife to get my first corvette. I've narrowed it down to a 2013 Grand Sport, brand new, I like the wide look. A 2LT package that includes chrome wheels, heritage package, with two tone leather and fender stripes, performance exhaust, magnetic ride control, and an automatic transmission. Additionally it has the GPS; even though it’s a dated system it still looks better than the basic radio. Oh if it matters the car is artic white...looks hot. I can buy this car for 58,000 flat, MSRP is 68,000. Do you guys think it’s a good buy? I was told by my buying service at the credit union it’s a better price than they could get for me, and at that price the dealer isn’t making anything. Oh I forgot they will throw in two free mobile 1 full synthetic oil changes with the purchase.

Where do you live?

Tommy Jr. of MacMulkin Chevrolet in NH (a forum vendor) has lots of 2013 GS I believe. I would check with him on what he has in stock. If he has what you want, I would almost guarantee you that he would beat that price by a lot.

You could probably get it shipped to you and still beat that price.

I've seen 2013 GS going for as much as $17,000 off the sticker price.

That's to much $$$$ for a new C6 in todays market. General rule is to expect about 18-19% off MSRP from a GOOD forum vendor. However, if it is the only car you can find optioned the way you want it then buy it:)
Tommy at McMulkin is the best. Search his web site to see if there is a car you like and give him a call. Don't be put back by the fact you might have to fly n drive or get the car shipped to you. Trust me, it's worth it.

To be completely honest with you, I really don't think that's a great price.

Here's my reasoning....I purchased my car Jan. 24, 2013. Photo below. It is also a Grand Sport, also a 2LT, has the NPP exhaust, Heritage Edition Package, has black headlamp buckets, (MSRP $590 option), black fender badges, ($100 option), and a few other options. However it is an M6, so you have that A6 additional expense, and I do not have magnetic ride. My wheels where a $500, your chromies are about $2,000 MSRP.

I paid $56,300.00 for my car, but remember it was back in January, before dealers started making massive price reductions like a fire sale on the C6 generation. If you do the math on all the + & -, you'll end up with your car costing about $1,800 more than mine, or about $58,100.

But remember that would be back in Jan. '13....right now, my car can be had for about $53,000, yours should be around $55,000.

Seems to me, your getting a good price for that car 6 months ago, but it's not so hot now. Of course, this is based on south Florida prices. Forum vendors will do several thousand better on the price.

What ever you do, best of luck, you're gonna enjoy that car.

You should browse some of the deals in MacMulkin's Dealer Inventory thread. That will give you an idea of where an aggressive dealer would price a 2LT GS right now.

I've already searched Auto Trader, the internet and the dealers fellow members have mentioned. I even talked with a salesperson for Rick Hendrick Corvettes and he could not match the price of 58,000 for the same vehicle. So, I'm sure sure about your advice. Also, you have to remember if you find a brand new 2013 with color and options you like you might have get it before its too late , since the production run for 2013 model year was probably the shortest.

Just call the 4 top Forum dealers........ MacMulkins, Kerbeck, Mike Furman at Criswell and I recommend Dennis Tap at Les Stanford.

You will quickly get a sense of the market with 4 phone calls.

Also there may be some great lease deals..... not sure your plans, if this is what you'd consider.

WARNING...... don't get confused about what someone else paid. There is Corvette loyality money, GM credit card money in play. Someone posts OH I got 20K off does not say what the total deal is.

Heck there are even some brand new 12s sitting on dealer lots.

MacMulkin has 14 2013 GS's listed for sale with automatics, they are averaging about 18% off msrp. Nothing there has your interest?

Frontier Chevrolet in El Reno, OK has two new GS for $15,000 off. Both white.

You make a very good point. When providing info on what I paid, I should have said there was no loyalty money involved as this is my first 'vette, and there was no GM credit card money either.

You also bring up a good point about the current deals, and it makes me wonder of they are as hot as everyone says they are.

Plus the OP already spoke with Hendrick, and their price is what I would have paid at my dealer 6 months ago, $58,000.

I'll monitor this thread, and I'd appreciate it of the OP would post information regarding the actual price he needed to pay to obtain this car. Perhaps all the talk of 20% or more off list, etc., is just that, a lotta talk.

I called Frontier Chevy ...idiots ...54888...that includes all rebates ....which I don't qualify for ....so add another 3750 to the price ..

Yeah...a LOT of dealers are advertising prices with the $3,000 Loyalty Rebate already factored in. Then you read the fine print and find out all the incentives that you DON'T qualify for...

Back in Oct ’12, I purchased a brand new ’13 GS 2LT plus other options. It listed for $66,xxx and I got $11K off the sticker plus an additional $3K off because I already had a Vette. I would think you should be able to do better than $10K off considering the C7 will be hitting the streets in a few weeks. Are your anywhere near the Atlantic City NJ area? If so, you may want to consider Kerbeck.

My 2013 GS 2LT. MSRP was $64,105 and I paid $50,000 with $3,000 loyalty at MacMulkin in APRIL.

So when my credit union offers a free buying service ..and they tell me the price is better than they can get, ...what don't believe them ...the credit union is also aware of all rebates

This tells me the buying service can’t beat the prices of the high volume dealers.

depends upon what part of the country you are in....I'm in the Midwest ...dealers don't like to discount other than what GM is giving away as so-called free money

I think you should work your dealer a little bit.

I agree with the above, you would probably do better with one of the big four. Just keep in mind the shipping charges to get the car to you.

The car is everything you want, the deal to me is good enough. You can spend a lifetime chasing all these other great deals. Buy it, do not look back and enjoy it.

Lottsa truth in that...area is also very important.

I live in Palm Beach County, Florida. It's a well know high rent district. There are 2 Chevy dealers in the immediate area, and 2 more just outside the area in which I live.

If you mention Kerbeck, or Hendricks, they'll just tell you politely to go there, because they won't match those prices. About 6.5 ~ 8% off MSRP is the best you can do around here. I'll bet the C7 will be full MSRP for the first 2 years, in this area, and then about 4% in the 3rd year.
