Watching Cheers and they just showed Sam Malone's Corvette
 

My wife and I are watching Cheers right now (hey I can multi-task :lol: :lol: ) and they just show Sam's Corvette. It was a red Mid-year convertible. Anyone know the year????

I am watching it too. I seen Woody laying in the street and he said "don't move me". And then Sam pulled up with the Vette and Woody got up to give him the parking spot!

It depends on the episode. The one with Woody in the street looked to be either a '63 or '64 convertible (with side pipes). Definitely red.

There's also an episode where Diane throws an engagement ring out the window as they drive. That one was a '67 BB car (red with a black stinger I believe).

I think he also had a red C4.

I believe both the '64 and '67 were Sam's car. One was for sale on ebay a while back. I think it sold for over $80K :eek:

The Coupe was on My Classic Car TV show with the owner. It is a 1967 red BB with C4 suspension and side pipes. Denis Gage went for a ride in it with the owner whom works in the film industry (not an actor). But he did do stage stuff for Cheers. When they were looking for a Vette to use as Sam's car he offered his. He did say his Vette was never seen on the show with Sam driving it.

One time it did show it being towed though.

If anyone is interested I can find the episode number of My Classic Car and post it and the owner's name.

Hmm ... there appears to be Yet Another Midyear. There's an episode where Woody drives Sam to Vermont and it's not a BB car. At least, it's not a BB hood :) Can't tell what year the car is, since they never pan out.

Your right about the 67 BB.
There was a write up on it several yrs ago in
one of the Corvette rags. (got it in the huge pile somewhere)
It was parked in the lot, and they needed a car for a show,
so they used it. The owner has owned several nice Vettes.
& Just happened to drive the Red one to work that day.

Recently saw a repeat of JAG and he was driving a Red 68 convertable... looked really nice and sounded good as well.... yeah... yeah.... I know its not a midyear.... :yesnod:

I also saw an episode a while back where Sam was in a Red Shark... not sure of the year... but saw the hood and roof line... it was definately a Shark and not a midyear... :yesnod:

But then they were Vettes.... :cool: :D :cool: :D

About a year ago, I was looking at Hemmings and they had a Mid year for sale that claimed it was from the Cheers episode. I thought it was a 63 or 64, and it was well over 100k...

There was an episode where his car was stolen and Sam held a support group in his bar for people who had ther muscle cars stolen. In that show he explained that his car was a fuel injected 64. I believe the car in the episode where Sam was teaching woody to drive his car was a 64 also.

If that's the case, then there were two 64s used. The one where Woody saved a spot was a convertible, and the one on the drive to VT was a coupe.
