Wreckless driving ticket, cop wasnt even there!
 

I recieved a wreckless driving ticket in my new c7. The funny thing is the cop was not there. Someone a few doors down said I was driving wreckless so a police officer showes up later and gives me a ticket. I informed the cop that I was not speeding and that I had scared the idiot down the street while getting his mail when I put my car in track mode and reved up the engine when I passed him trying to impress my 9 year old son in the car. What the hell?!

Wreckless driving charge is no joke. You should be able to win fairly if you fight it

Fight that one. Let him show up and testify. How can he dispute your testimony if he didn't witness the offense?

I would not have said to the officer that you were driving. What state do you live in. Usually officers do not write tickets for things they do not observe or have direct evidence of. They would normally direct the observer to file a complaint with the local DA, and the DA will decide if there is enough evidence to pursue.

Depending on the jurisdiction, you can lose your license for reckless driving. You might want to find out what evidence they have, and get a lawyer.

Yes, Im fighting it. Im not sure how that will ever hold up in court but you never know. When the cop asked me if I had any other questions, I asked him how long he had been sleeping with the guy who turned me in. He didnt think it was funny.

I live in Idaho and I already got a lawyer. They dont have any evidence. He was getting his mail.

After you win, sue the guy in small claims court who turned you in. You should be able to get lawyer fees and court costs.

I wouldn't think that the sound your car makes constitutes driving behavior. I see motorcycles all the time that are easily as loud or louder. You would think they wouldn't be able to back out of the driveway without a ticket. Maybe a ticket for excessive noise, but a stock car should be legal to drive safely, especially one built by Gov't Motors!

Fight it, worst they can do is have you pay for the guys, now trashed, underwear.

The in-court testimony of the neighbor will be the State's evidence. Without him they lose for sure. What will his version of the events be?

The person who called the police has to ID you as the driver unless you admitted to be the driver to the officer. That is why you do not say anything..
