I'm guessing between 660 and 675hp , of course with a blower running moderate boost ..

I'd bet money they have the new Z06 in Scotsdale since Barrett-Jackson falls in the same week as NAAS. Last year the C7 showed up for the last couple days of B/J in Scotsdale

Members of America's Corvette Club will be allowed to review the new C7 Z06 one hour before the public is admitted into Cobo Center on Saturday, January 18th.

600-625 HP Max. With the right setup for track racing useing the new tech in this new C7, nothing would touch it. ..Nothing...... The price is the 64 dollar question...

Just a guess but I don't think it will have more than 550 hp. :leaving:

Bad guess
If it is more than 550 hp then great. I can't even count the number of posts over the years where everyone ends up disappointed because they had overly optimistic opinions about what the horsepower figures would be for a new vette model or engine. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed with the final results, but that's just me. |
While they may not make it a forged motor compared to the LS9 I cannot imagine LT4 would make less than a ZL1 LS8 motor that is still considerably more than your 550 speculation.
Having to overcome an already considerable problem with the weight of the C7, without a drastic and expensive diet, the C7Z will have to make 700 HP just to keep the power to weight numbers on par with the C6 ZR1. Something the C7Z model MUST keep up with if they hope to sell it to ZR1 owners. :yesnod: (The ZR1 top gun model was considerably heftier than the lightweight ZO6 with 133 less HP) |

And apparently ground-effects............. my guess is 600#'s of downforce at speed. This will also hurt the terminal speed numbers but who cares?

My guess is we will get a 600hp+ ZO6 and engineers will make tweaks each year moving forward similar to what Nissan has done with the GT-R. |

If we get 550hp, I believe we will see a ZR1 really soon. However, if the ZO6 debuts with 600hp+, my bet is we will not see a ZR1 for a very long time...if ever during C7 production.
My guess is we will get a 600hp+ ZO6 and engineers will make tweaks each year moving forward similar to what Nissan has done with the GT-R. Since I guessed 550 hp I'm going to stick with this figure to avoid accusations of being irresolute. Like I said above, if the horsepower ends up being quite a bit more (i.e. 600+) then I'll be pleasantly surprised instead of disappointed. It certainly wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something. |
