DO you need a built rear to run a 10sec pass
hello everyone just wondering i am going to need to build my rear to get into the 10's. Also will my stock trans hold up. I have a 99 FRC

Advisable, especially with a stick.
Basically a simple rebuild with clutches, seals and C6 Z06 axle stubs. A 3 rib case is preferred, not sure if the 99 had one or not? If you can do the work yourself, not even too expensive. Ron |
Slip the clutch and don't power shift and it can hold. But, at some point (1st pass or 100 passes later) your stock rear will give in. What mods do you have ?

Thanks for the response guys. I have an iron 408ci, full exhaust, fast102manifold and TB, build that's going in my car. Just trying to figure out exactly what to do with my rear/trans.I plan to run nitrous but don't know what kit I should buy should buy?? Any suggestions would be appreciated...

I have a built diff. Went through 1 stocker and 1 built one from someone I didn't know. Finally did it right and took it to rpm. I don't have a 3 rib and it's not needed if you get a dte diff brace. Which I think every c5 should have

eventually I will upgrade my diff to all C6Z06 internals, but that won't be until next year. In the mean time I will be putting on a ECS brace to go with the Hinson diff mount I already have. Already have the bias plys to help cushion the diff on launch lol.
