How can I get my gray brake calipers powder coated crystal red metallic to match the color of my C7, does powder coating look good forever, and what will it cost? Thanks!

Did you take your car to him or ship him the brake calipers? Thanks.

Interesting. I know them. They are around the block from my office. Good people too. So they are stocking calipers for advance exchange? That is a great idea on their part! Did their finished product retain the Corvette logo on the calipers?
And yes the Corvette logo is retained: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-v...post1585232938 |
With the C6, Mike gave the option of sending you back your own calipers once done or he would send a set he had from a previous core return. I believe with the C7 he does not have cores to exchange so you would have to wait to get your own back. He did my C6 and they came out great and durable. Do a search in the C6 forum, you will find many satisfied customers. Good luck.

I approve of Mike too. He powder coated the calipers on my Camaro SS & did a great job. I did core exchange.

Yep!
He did mine back in '11. Now I am planning on doing the C7's in blue... |
In doing this how hard is it to bleed the brakes on a corvette or does the dealer need to do it. I've had plenty of experience bleeding brakes but mostly on motorcycles.
|
Pretty straight forward bleeding process. No need to take to GM... ( At least on the C6)..

calipers
I purchased a used set and sent them out to get powder coated. This way I had limited down time. If anyone here is interested mine are getting installed today and will have my old C7 set up for sale.
This way I could get them done on my time table. |

he is retired.

Another thumbs-up for Mike, but sadly, he is retired.
He did a set of calipers a few years back and the quality and customer service was outstanding. With that experience, I would gladly have another set powder coated as they held up perfectly. The beauty of dealing with Mike was he sent you a set powder coated, and you just sent him back your old calipers for him to use with another customer. Now, one would have to park the car while it's being done. |
Curious if powder coated calipers discolor as badly from the high heat of track work as my painted ones have. The fronts on my Z51 are badly discolored. "Burnt Red"
Is there a new go to guy? |
For my C5 project, I bought a used set of C6 Z06 brakes and redid them myself. I cleaned it all up, took the calipers to a local powder coating shop and rebuilt the calipers. The powder coater said he can match almost any color and finish. I chose a medium satin black for the calipers and painted the rotors myself. Yes it's a lot of work, but worth it.
