z06/07 vs 09 zr1

Can someone tell me the major differences, besides the engine between a z06 with z07/carbon package vs an 09 zr1 ?
About to bite the bullet on one, seeing they are similar in price, i'm ready to flip a coin. :willy:
Also which would you choose and why
Thanks

09 zr1 doesn't have launch control....there probally is warranty left on z07.... z07 can get better fuel mileage.... supercharger is fun ....one is top dog supercharged...the other top dog NA... i did not replace my z06 with a zr1 because the bang for buck wasn't there for me... if both vehicles are very close in price, then condition, number of owners, mileage, mods if any, intended use, should all be considered. if i did not own z06 i would buy a '10 and up zr1... having owned 2 c6 z06 the only replacement for me would be c7 z06... good to be having such tough decisions:D

Only having drove 2 Z06's I couldn't imagine the performance (and I really want to drive a ZR1) of anything as bad A$% as the Z06. I have a 2007 Z06 and I don't think that car should be street legal and I did not really even come close to pushing the limits of the car!!!!!! I can't wait to get a little more familiar with the Z06!!!!!! Soon!

What are you looking to do with the car?

On the street there just isn't much difference. You can't use the power of either car as there just isn't enough room to open them up. Both cars will easily hit 160 in 4th and will get there pretty quick with the ZR1 having a pretty good advantage in the triple digit speed range. Stabbing the gas for a second or two in the lower gears doesn't really show you how much performance either car has and really isn't all that satisfying since you don't get to experience the freight train like pull long enough.

If your just buying a cruiser and weekend toy between the 2 the ZR1 has the more fun powerband and if you plan on doing a few bolt ons you can make big gains for not much money. If your gonna track it I'd definitely get the Z06 the ZR1 gets heatsoaked fairly easy to be honest and weighs over 200lbs more than my Z06 was. I've owned both and they are both nice cars can't really go wrong with either.

No not going to track it. Also found out the carbon has been completely modded -cam, intake, exhaust etc
Will modding affect pricing on this car up or down ?

Depends on the buyer. I don't think the z07 will be a collector edition model. Even if it is, all of that can be put back to stock.

On high production cars, normally mods add maybe 20-30% of the modifications original value to the vehicle. You have to find a buyer who wants those mods, though or they aren't worth much to a guy who would rather have a virgin car.

Now their is a line, though. Where extensive mods like a fully built engine top to bottom, forced induction, full suspension etc. Will command something like 50-60% of the modifications original value. That is usually due to two things. The car has proven to make said power for x amount of time. So maybe that power has proven to be reliable? That's not always the case but yea. Also, the downtime it saves on a big build like that. It is turnkey and ready to roll.

To me it is a buyer's market at this point. Know what you want and go find a car to that liking.

That's my experience anyways.

Personally I'd go for the z07. I'm getting into road racing this season hopefully once I get my car back. If you don't plan on modding either car the heads/cam z07 will put down about the same power as the stock ZR1, maybe more. It's also lighter so it should be faster. If you want to mod, get the zr1, they can get around 750+ rwhp I think before adding nitrous?

I'd want to know who did all the install/tune on the car and get a feel for how it was driven. And if the heads were upgraded too.

A modded car to an extent isn't really gonna drop the value of the car it's just possibly gonna eliminate potential buyers. But people will buy a modded car just sometimes it may take longer.
