I think that recall only applies to the C5 since the C6 doesn't have a key ignition.

As the housing cools and contracts, the low-beam headlamp function may return. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, daytime running lamps or fog lamps. Loss of low beam headlamps when they are required could reduce the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Steven |
There is conflicting information, one source label's the rear lid hinges as being faulty ( weak ) and the other is about the headlamps going out.
Not really sure which is the most recent. |

Got it.
So the engine bay fuse box is susceptible to heat damage. Might be time to get some heat shield on this unit to avoid problems. |
Saw several write ups on the forum a few months ago when I was researching my one headlight going out. For me, that was only a bad bulb, but I read several threads on here about the fuse box wire issue where both lights just go off. Several folks have had fuse block under the hood replaced by dealers, or had a workaround where they added their own wire to fix it. I'm sure someone will post the other links. Wouldn't want to be cruising down the road at night, and pop, the headlights go out.
It's been a know problem or potential issue for quite some time, and took quite a while for a recall. |

There's a real good thread somewhere here on the forum about the fuse box issue with pictures. I have not had the problem but did see the thread one time when I was perusing. Sorry, don't remember where it was though, so you'll have to search if interested.

Fuse Box
I just had my 2005 fuse box replaced because of the faulty position in the engine bay. I set up a complaint form with GM and discovered I was not alone- if you look online there have been various owners of 2005 vettes who have experienced the same thing like - my headlight going off suddenly after a bump in the road then coming back on. So far GM wont reimburse the 300 bucks for the box. Oh well 72000 miles Why Should I Worry?:cheers:

I have a 13 GS, if fuse box is affected. I'd rather fix myself. Wondering if Heat wrap does work
