No Wave what's up??

This is really sad I've past about 25 fellow Vette owners in the past few weeks, maybe 10 gave the wave. This is the equivalent of pulling out in traffic, and not giving a thank you wave. Ladies & Gentlemen we can do better!

FWIW: I have limo tint on my car and you wouldn't see me if I did. So I don't bother with it. I do talk to others as I see them around town (quik stops, etc.,.).

I wave when I see another Vette - and I have time to do it. Sometimes I'm concentrating on something else and I miss it.

When I had my '65, I always drove in good weather with the windows down (no AC, and tires that weren't meant for wet conditions). The few times I came across another Corvette, it was very easy to wave, since I usually had my arm propped up on the window sill.

In both my '95 and '11 coupe, I'm generally running with the windows up, and since the side windows are tinted, it's hard to see a wave - although I try.

I probably wave about 60 - 70 percent of the time that I see another Vette. I also try to give the non-waver's the benefit of the doubt. I assume that if they'd seen me, and had time to react, they would have waved back (or initiated it).

I would have to say 3 out of 4 will wave. I know one thing, I always wave :yesnod:

Who cares. We're not friends just because we own the same car. Someone letting you into traffic is an intentional act and deserves a thanks, not quite the same. If someone waves at me depending on my mood I might wave back but I don't go around waving at random people.

:iagree:

I don't know how many other Vettes I would have missed if my wife were not along and noticing them as the passenger. I wave when I see another but I wonder how many I never notice when I'm alone.

Just lighten up about what others do or don t. The important thing is to keep waving. Sooner or later people will ask somebody why fellow Vette owners wave and then hopefully they will learn about Corvette culture and become a waver. I say just set a good example and enjoy owning a corvette and forget about what others do or don t. Nobodys taking my smile

Some nice gifs LFC.....

I will wave if I see you. It doesn't take much effort. If folks on bikes do it, why cant folks in Corvettes???
Just my opinion.

Lighten up.

Sometimes tinted glass gets in the way.

It's not a big deal.

fred flintstone 07-11-2014 01:46 PM

I didn't know we were supposed to be waving to fellow corvette drivers/passengers until I read it in this forum. Now I always do. Sometimes get a wave back, sometimes not. No big deal. Can't always wave if focusing on driving safely.

ZR1Cat 07-11-2014 01:48 PM

I just wave. :seeya

If I get a wave back, that is nice. If I don't get a wave back; no big deal. I don't give it a second thought.

I did get a wave the other day from a Harley dude. I got the low hung, open palm biker wave as he rumbled past me. I thought that was cool.

Wow. I knew about it even before I ever owned my first vette. Everybody in sports car culture knows vette owners wave whether they ever owned a vette or not.
