God, I need a positive z06 story....this is like watching the news

I've been floating around the forum a few days and its been a crazy time.
I'm in the market for a z "soon" and have become all worked up with (dare I say it) the "valve" issue. I've put it behind me with some good advice and really don't want to think about it.
What I do want is a nice positive "I roasted a Lambo today" story...or maybe a Gt500....anything!
Heck, even if you took it out today to get grocery's!

Tickle my ears

Blew the doors off the new Jeep Srt8s when I left work. I know it wasnt a match at all, but he was a d-bag who kept goosing on the hwy.

Hope that tickled your ears..

Best car I've ever owned, period. 31k miles and it's perfect. If the valves are bugging you, have them worked over and forget it.
Pull the trigger cowboy.

Talk dirty to me....perfect, even better he was a D-bag.

Better hurry up and get one. I just installed a new set of B&B Fusion Extreme's. They're set to be open on start thanks to my friend Jed Blanks. A Z is nothing less than automotive porn. Every time you get in it and start it up you'll grin from ear to ear.

Exactly...I was running circles in my head of what to do then it became obvious...I could be pissed about it and stew and worry or just pull the damn heads off....or get the warranty and drive it till the last day, then pull the heads off...or get a whole new motor. Im going with the new motor scenario.

My z is the most enjoyable car I've ever owned! Can't get much more positive than that.

bigterpsfan 07-13-2014 05:28 AM

Just get one and make it sound like this

That is a iPhone video as well

Buy the Z, best Corvette I have ever driven and owned....JUST DO IT

I'm taking my 6 year old grandson out for his first ride in the Z06 today on his birthday. It is a surprise he will never forget.

My 06 Z06 has been the most reliable Corvette I have ever owned and I've had about 30 of them. Just a great car

Dodge Chalenger SRT8

I've got one, this happened Friday afternoon.

Down here in Broken Arrow; I came to a light off the BA Expressway and 145th. As I stopped, low and behold a blacked out black Challenger SRT8 pulls up beside me. he was all about show but no go.

This particular light can be short to turn; and I guess he was either out of gear or not paying attention -- while he was rev rev revving his engine at me. (Know the kind??) I already had the car nannies off...and on the instant the light changed I jammed the gas and dropped the clutch - roasted him and my tires leaving in cloud of tire smoke. I put 5 to 6 car lengths between us and jumped to 58; and lifted.. (45 speed limit). Until I lifted I was accelerating hard away from him - not to be caught.

He came up be die me and was trying to get me to go again..what was the point; other than a ticket?? I waved.. off he went. Honestly it was one of the most brutal jumps I ever made on a car in my Z - my timing was just perfect and the tire smoke looked like something from the 60's. I'm sure he wasn't expecting a nannies off Z.

Great fun...I'm sure I pee'ed in his Post Toasties.

I have to say, it'd be closer if it was a Hellcat...I do like their new Dodge King of the Road.

If it was a Hellcat, you'd have been in his rearview.

Pull the cyl heads in 3 hours, sent them to Richard@WCCH.

I would throw every 2pc oem exhaust valve in the scrap bin and replace at a min. on the LS7.

WCCH and Brian Tooley Racing(BTR) were some of the best shops I've worked with.

LFZ 07-13-2014 09:04 AM

Pulled onto the entrance ramp on the intererstate the other day...Saw 3 late model Mustangs. I was gitty as a schoolgirl. 2 of them 5.0s....probably modded and the other was a new Cobra. Roll raced all of them one at a time and all they saw was tail lights....got the "ricer flyby" from the one of the 5.0s and I just chuckled as he went by flipping me off. Love feel good stories....

PS: Bone stock Z with an intake and exhaust...all day long.

ZR-1 Mark 07-13-2014 10:21 AM

I spent almost $44k on my '06. And I'll spend another few thousand soon when I fix the heads and probably a camshaft. In the grand scheme of things it's a paltry amount to spend so that you have "peace of mind"

I had some cocky kids here last night for a little pool party. Of course they asked to see the car. When I explained to them that even at 8 years old my car will kick most cars ass out there being made today, they listened, and learned.

Remember, with a decent driver a stock Z06 should run 0-->60 in 3.6 and 1/4 mile in 11.4 seconds. How many cars can claim that stock ?

Life is too short man,
Just do it :yesnod:

rockinSeat 07-13-2014 10:28 AM

What else can you get for $45k that even comes close? If concerned about the valves, get a car with warranty remaining or with fixed heads, or just fix the heads as many have mentioned.

WHY TRY? 07-13-2014 10:32 AM

Definitely pull the trigger on a C6 Z!!! I've beat 12' GT500 with the TVS making 670-690+RWHP so he claims, SRT-10 Vipers, GSXR 750, etc. Of course i have a little work done "H/C/I" but still it's a great car to have.
