tour on friday july 11

I asked a worker on the line what vin number was in front of him.
it was 32,200 something. this was about 12;30 pm on Friday. I don't know if premier coupes and convertibles had separate vins or not.

Thanks. Mine will be very close to yours then since my TPW was 7/7 as well. I spoke with GM Chat and they said mine rolled off the line Tuesday and was shipped on Friday July 11th.

Your dealer can get your status with a couple keystrokes. Ask them for a copy of the OrderWORKBENCH document. It will have the current status and the VIN on page one. If he prints out the whole thing, you will get a complete history of the status changes.

Yup, my dealer is on a twice a day "birth" watch. He's checking the GM system twice a day for me. I just got my evening update. It's murder for us folks during your TPW.

I need a drink.

My TPW was 6/30 and car was built on 6/27 with a VIN of 30768. It was delivered to the dealer about noon today. Chevy marketing told me this morning it was still in BG. Go figure as there is no rhyme or reason as to what is happening.

31,994 as o the end of last week that I saw posted.

Once dispatch has the order (4200 signals the hand over) Chevy servers no longer get updates until dealer delivered.

The exceptions are when going by rail, and those updates are tardy and not complete, and when a build is going to a non GM contractor for stripes etc. but then it is returned to the plant to be shipped to the dealer.

32000 and counting!

32000 and 32103 are listed on Kerbeck's site.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate you all taking the time to respond. The car is coming north of the border. I heard they are sent by truck when going to Canada but I'm far from 100% sure of that. Maybe it's just across the border and to the dealer by truck, who knows!!!

Mine was built 7/14 #32169 so that means they've built 550 since mine in 3 days.
That's 183 cars per day.

DonBoy 07-18-2014 03:03 PM

Anyone know if there is there only one shift working at the plant? Would be interesting to know...

laborsmith 07-18-2014 03:48 PM

One shift on the assembly line plus overtime.

Two shifts in the paint shop which probably includes overtime bit I don't know for sure.

There is NO chance of adding a second shift for assembly. There are a lot of reasons, but two inn paint to make enough bodies or one in final assembly should be enough.
