Would you buy a car with this dealer sticker on it?

What can you do about it after it's already there?

What's an "acceptable" dealer sticker look like?

The days of dealers drilling and riveting their "stickers" on their cars (they actually did this years ago!) are long gone. Every dealer ID I have seen in the past twenty years or so simply peel off. No worries!

No worries; a little sandpaper and it'll come right off!

To me there is no such thing as an acceptible dealer sticker. I would insist that the dealer take the sticker off as a condition of the sale.

ATX-C7 07-23-2014 08:27 AM

You can peel it right off...not a big deal :smash:

I usually request the dealer not put the sticker on. When I bought my GMC Sierra they flat out refused to honor that request saying they are proud of their dealership and they wanted people to know where I got my beautiful truck . Funny thing is I figured I would just go home and peel it off..name of the dealership is CHAPDELAINE GMC. each letter was individually applied...it took me over an hour to peel the entire thing off :toetap:

MacMulkin did not put a sticker on the vette and I did not even have to ask them not to.

warm the sticker with a hair dryer on low and it should easily come off. caution - keep the heat low.

I thought that the whole dealer sticker thing was only a regular occurrence on used cars. Seems to be the case around here, at least, i'd never even seen a dealer sticker on a new car until you posted this story!

Bought a new MR2 for my wife years ago and it had a dealer sticker which I asked them to remove while doing make ready, they said no problem. Problem was that the make ready boys had no clue and used a razor blade... the dealer then had to paint the area and blend it into the adjacent panels. DO IT YOURSELF!

Peeled mine off within 10 minutes if getting home. Not a big deal.

First thing I remove from all my cars.

The one time a dealer put one on my new Corvette I peeled it off in the dealer's parking lot and pasted it to the salesman's desk. Apparently it comes off car paint easier than it comes off desks. :D

I have noticed that many dealers use their name on a license plate frame.

When my car was on it's way to the dealer, I had the horrible thought of his sticker on the ass end of my new Vette. I called my salesperson to ask that they not apply the sticker to the car.
She replied, "We NEVER put our sticker on a Corvette". Now that's respect. She also said they would not put one on other vehicles if the owner requested, but Vettes never get the sticker.
I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with my small town dealer. Gave me GMS pricing the day it was announced and a very fair trade on my low mileage 07 C6.
Good dealers are out there, but unfortunately the bad ones get most of the press.

I always tell dealers no stickers. I would have bought the Sierra somewhere else had they left a sticker on it.

On my Accord, I peeled it and the pinstripe off the car as the sales man was delivering the car to me...no big deal

dealer sticker is NO dealer sticker. The exception would be if they paid me a lot of money to advertise their business.
