Daily driver

What do all the Corvette owners on the forum drive as their daily commuter car? How many own a fuel efficient foreign car or even a Hybrid or all electric car? Just curious if the need for horse power is confined to just your Corvette. My wife and I both have 4 cylinder Toyota Camry's as our every day commuter cars.

My daily drivers are '65 Corvette and '67 GTO. No foreigners or electrics for me.

Ford F-150 and a C-Max Energi (109 mpg)

daily driver

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram Quad Cab and for the nice days a 1969 Camaro. American rides only.

I had a long commute so always had something that got good mileage. My favorite was a '95 240SX that I still have. Before the long commute my daily driver was a '69 RS/SS Camaro which I also still have.

i have the 94 vette, 2011 impala 2012 impala 2012 gmc sierra 2008 hayabusa 2009 m109r

drive either or all daily :)

The daily drivers are a '79 Ferrari 308 GTS and '37 Ford pickup streetrod.

Unless I have to haul something like cinder blocks, then it is a 2010 Tacoma TuRD 4x4.

I don't commute to work though, so DD is more like a beer run or a trip to the hardware store or post office.

Retired now, but when I did commute, Dodge Ram hemi & Harley fatboy.

65 Vette for short trips; 08 Mercedes GL550 for hauling the dogs or a long trip.

LB66383 07-23-2014 12:20 PM

A '96 Vette or an '85 BMW 635CSi. Occasionally, the '30 Ford 5-window street rod.

6-speed E90 BMW 325i, sport and premium package.

There are not enough RWD stick shift sedans being offered in this country. I've got two young kids. I can't get into the caddy styling, or the old G8. Where are you supposed to turn? A non-turbo BMW is actually NOT an expensive proposition to own as long as you aren't the dummy who takes it for service every time the car reminds you to open your wallet. I do my own. It's my second one after my wife traded her automatic in for something larger, and we got plenty of enjoyable trouble free miles without even a plug change.

These 3-series aren't fast, but they are well-sprung, have a smooth six, a great shifter, and a pleasantly heavy amount of steering feedback (pre-electric like mine). And not that it matters, but it gets great mileage.

I do envy the people in warm weather climates. They get to drive their Corvettes, Hot Rods, and Muscle cars all year round. But then again I save all my working on it for winter time.

2003 VW Jetta TDI and 2004 Harley Fatboy

I live in Florida and drive one of my Restomods most of the time but our other cars are a Mini Cooper and a Hyundai Sonata.

Retired but regular cars include: 2012 CTS-V Wagon, 2014 Ford Fusion, 2000 Corvette, 2009 Corvette, and 2003 Mini. The one that gets the best fuel mileage is the 2000 Corvette ! Fun cars include the '62 Corvette, 40-Chev coupe and '68 Impala Wagon

nassau66427 07-23-2014 03:00 PM

98 cubes, EFI, 7.3:1 CR, and a romping, stomping 52 Hp.

C6 as a daily driver. Also have a Silverado 1500 truck.

bcwaller 07-23-2014 03:38 PM

1967 Chevelle. It was an SS396, but now it has a 350, T700R4, disc brakes, suspension mods, and 275/45/17 tires. The Chevelle was in an accident, so the Corvette will be my daily driver while the Chevelle is in the shop.

Kerouac 07-23-2014 03:45 PM

2014 BMW 328i. But would rather drive the '65 Coupe any day.

2012 2-door Jeep Wrangler. 22mpg highway, so it's kind of fuel efficient compared to the Vette.

My previous daily driver was a 2002 Ford Focus sedan...this one was still getting 33mpg when I sold it at 10 years/140k miles old.
