clutch recommendation for 650rwhp on LS2 T56

Hey y'all. My trans and diff are being upgraded in my 05 coupe. I thought I would upgrade the clutch at the same time and would appreciate your guidance. I'd like the best of all worlds, factory like pedal feel, sufficient holding power, reliability/durability and preferably no chatter/clutch noise. The car will see occasional track use. A twin disc is fine it meets the above criteria. Please let me know what you are running, how much power your making and any pros/cons.

I have a Centerforce Dyad with a Tick master and am very happy with it.

I only have 540 at the wheels, but the setup will take much more.

I have a Mcleod RXT, and use their stock weight billet flywheel and have no chatter and stock pedal pressure, and no matter what clutch you choose I highly recommend a Tick Master cylinder. 05 640hp

I've never heard of a Tickmaster Cylinder. What is it and why should I use it?

It is more robust than the stock plastic one

What are your future plans for the car? How do you drive the car weekend warrior, daily driver? Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.

Thanks

I use the car only to go to car shows, a weekend drive and the drag strip but would also like to take it on a road race track 1-2 times a year, but haven't yet. I am a weekend warrior. I will drive it hard if there is no traffic to get in the way.

I think the Tickmaster cylinder is not something I want to deal with at this time and I'd prefer that the replacement clutch work properly w/ the stock cylinder.

For now, I need just enough hp and upgraded drivetrain to get me into the high tens at the 1/4 mile drag strip.

Mcleod rxt, done. 655rwhp, mid 10s, and 1.5 short times with ease

Lots of choices out there!

You give me hope. I would have been happy with low to mid 11s but with all this added expense in the drive train I might as well set my goals on high 10s. Thanks for the input.

How many miles have you out on the RXT?
Did you have any chatter/noise or balance issues?
Are you using the RXT on a LS2, 3, 7 or 9?

It's an Ls2 car with about 4k on the clutch, stock rear/tranny/short block, and 70k on the car. Clutch has minimal chatter which has dininished as miles increased.
Your goal should definitely be 10s, as my runs were with a 3500ft DA ( Had they been at near or below sea level it would have likely been a very low 10).
Hope that helps

We use the RPS Street Twin 1/2 Carbon clutch kit for anything in the 600-700rwhp range. The driveability and feel of the clutch is amazing, and will definitely hold your power.

We offer the clutch as a kit on our online store with a Tick master cylinder, speed bleeder, and GM slave cylinder for a complete installation.

Just tell RPM exactly what you want out of the clutch; stock feel, no chatter, whatever, and they will know which one to put in. It may not be maximum hold with above requirements
